(CNSNews.com) - The pro-abortion left appears to be losing the battle for the heart and soul of the rising generation of Americans, according to new data released by the Gallup poll.
Americans in the 18 to 29 age bracket are now more likely than their elders to believe abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, according to the data released last week, and generally oppose abortion in greater numbers than Baby Boomers.
Since 1975, Gallup has been asking this question: Do you think abortions should be legal under any circumstances, legal only under certain circumstances, or illegal in all circumstances? The data released last week showed the five-year results for the period 2005-2009.
In that period, 23 percent of Americans 18 to 29 years old said they believed abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, while 51 percent said it should be legal only under certain circumstances, and 24 percent said it should be legal under all circumstances. None of the older age brackets equaled the 23 percent in the 18 to 29 age bracket who would like to see all abortions prohibited. Only the 65 or older age bracket exceeded the under-30s in the combined percentage who would like to see all abortions outlawed or see abortion legal only under certain circumstances.
Twenty-one percent of Americans 65 or older said they believed abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, while 59 percent said it should be legal only under certain circumstances, and 16 percent said it should be legal under all circumstances.
Only 17 percent of Americans in the 50 to 64 bracket said they believed abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, while 55 percent said it should be legal only under certain circumstances, and 26 percent said it should be legal under all circumstances.
Similarly, only 17 percent of Americans in the 30 to 49 bracket said they believed abortion should be illegal in all circumstances, while 53 percent said it should be legal only under certain circumstances, and 28 percent said it should be legal under all circumstances.

Perhaps the younger generation is not as lost as its parents were.

This next generation coming up is going to be awesome and on fire for God like we’ve never seen a generation before.
Yeah, they were saved and not part of the holocaust...makes sense...and their parents are most likely not PAGANS
Are they becoming more conservative?
Pray for America
Doesn’t hurt that the pro-aborts were killing off their next generation...
Exactly. If you were born after 1973 you are an abortion survivor. It isn’t an academic argument, it is personal.
Absolutely correct. What do they have to lose? They lose their innocences far to early. Thanks to our culture of today, hollywood and the internet. Many are from broken homes, or homes where there is some sort of abuse. If they don’t get it at home, they get it at school, like we never had to. Mom’s don’t stay at home anymore to raise their kids. Sorry mom’s I know some of you have no choice but to work outside the home and many do a good job. But you can only spread yourself so thin before something gives. So many don’t even know who their father is. Many young men have no good roll models. And they know, because of abortion, that only by the grace of God their lives were spared. Even if they don’t know that enough to put it into words, somewhere down deep they know.
The vast majority of U.S. Citizens think abortions are wrong. A vocal minority champions the slaughter of the innocent.
If you ask folks if there are too many abortions in the U.S. each year, you’ll get a pretty large segment of the U.S. answering in the affirmative.
I think you may be right. Most of those I know are way to the right and are very religious. And don’t even start a conversation on Pro-life.
The anti- abortion sentiments of the young people are highlighted by their ever increasing numbers and spirit at the Annual March on Washington.
My 15 year old son and my 13 year old daughter were debating abortion in the car a few weeks ago.
My son was adamant that it was wrong in all cases, and the government should take a strong stand against it. My daughter was saying that she thought it was wrong, but she wasn’t sure how the government should be a part of it. She was wondering about rape and different issues.
I stayed out of it, and just let them talk about it.
They go to a Christian school, and you can tell that the school has influenced them. I think more than I have (accept that I was one that found the school.)
Having been born earlier, I never had to wonder about what if my mother had chosen to abort me. Can only imagine what that must be like for these kids to seriously ponder.
They have an honesty and a boldness about them.
Too bad that is the most pro-abortion Democrat, group in history.
66% of that age group voted for Obama, that is a stunning new record of Democratic support from that age group.
I really believe it has something to do with the large increase in the Hispanic population.
This news is absolutely awesome. My son and his wife are 30 and are adamantly against abortion. Thank you God.
They grew up in the middle of the abortion culture, they can’t believe the lies the liberals tell.
