The vast majority of U.S. Citizens think abortions are wrong. A vocal minority champions the slaughter of the innocent.

If you ask folks if there are too many abortions in the U.S. each year, you’ll get a pretty large segment of the U.S. answering in the affirmative.

I think something that isn’t getting mentioned is that the context of Roe v. Wade was something that was very tied up in legal and political issues of legal equality for women. The left reinforced that artificial tie between the issues but it existed none the less.

In the minds of those over thirty, there was and still is a difficulty with understanding legal equality of the sexes brought about by the “my body — my decision” comic book arguement.

Our younger generation didn’t live through that historical parallel development and is able to look at each issue in a stand alone fashion becuase they had no stake in the correstponding political, social and moral struggles of the time. We all know the person who was very much involved in “women’s rights” that without that history would be against abortion in the manifest way it developed, but they can’t seperate the positions.
