Chris just asked DeVore about Palin's endorsement, and he said, "I've got all the conservative "heart and soul" on my side, and Carly's just got Sarah Palin.
DeVore doesn't know how to handle things....Hayworth at least had a fall back if he win vs. McCain " I look forward to Palin supporting me when I win"...."Sheepdog" remarks?.....Backpeddles on RedState today for assinine comment? Devore is blowing up!!
LOLOL. Nah, Phil was a 7% 'er. Duncan's got a long way to go to get to that level.
87% of those polled disagree with you.
Hunter has zero appeal. All the right positions but it doesn’t matter. He did nothing, nothing to advance him or his ideas in 2008, are you going to give him a personality transplant?
“Nah, Phil was a 7% ‘er. Duncan’s got a long way to go to get to that level.”
Maybe pissant’s candidates are slipping, Al. Phil got 7%; Duncan got 1%; ? gets .....(a phone booth full) LOL
That is a cop out. If Duncan Hunter had the political appeal and charisma to attract the critical mass necessary for election he would have.
The fact is, good as he is on paper, he just couldn’t make the grade. He was discarded as a goat, and sheep were allowed to proceed.
Romney and McCain helped Brown win in Mass .... Brown is no big deal conservative but he is a gazillion times better than the dem he ran against.
Likewise, CA.
Do you feel the same way about hero worship of Reagan?
schizophrenia.
Hunter backed Huckabee and Demint supported Romney
Schizophrenia, you bet.
The sheepdog remark by his campaign manager or spokesman was a stupid, unfortunate and juvenile reaction that should not have been approved for release to the press. Chuck DeVore was hurt and should have said so and added that he looked forward to having Sarah’s endorsement along with his others after his wins the primary.
I didn’t know that he’s using state employess to work in his campaign. For all the promise and excitement election 2010 holds, the US Senate races are anything but. I am hoping and praying for solid Republican majorities and that’s precisely what Sarah is trying to advance.
Excellent post, TitansAFC. Excellent, excellent post. If you were running for office, I’d vote for YOU.
But somehow that was never an issue with Reagan.
Remember CostCo!!!
i bow down to the sarah bot god. ;)
The Palin and Fiorina bashers won’t read this because they hate the truth and this exposes also Devore who is not Senator material.
DeVore is not emotionnally up for the job. I don’t want someone
like him making National and International decisions
SARAH PALIN SHAKES UP CALIFORNIA (AND THE NATION) ENDORSES CARLY FIORINA
Gary P.
05/07/2010 -
Regular readers know that I spent a lifetime in sales and management, which gave me quite an insight into successful leadership, and what makes a great leader. Reading Sarah Palins notes on the occasion of her endorsement of Carly Fiorina for the United States Senate reminded me of a great leader I had the pleasure to work with, who taught me what it took to be effective.
Roy was an incredible man. He was a real master of strategery and a solid tactician. I never saw someone who could think so fast on his feet, and manage affairs so well. He was great with people, if not a bit gruff at times, deep down, he was a real softy, but only to those who knew him best.
One thing Roy understood is that sometimes, to get the desired result, you had to shake things up. Sometimes that meant taking a decent team member, that just wasnt getting it done, and wasnt gonna get it done, and putting in someone that could, and would. Sure, egos would get bruised, but professionals understood, and in the end, everyone was much to the better for it.
Leaders lead, which brings me to Sarah Palin:
Lets shake it up in California! (Updated)
Id like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.
Her name is Carly Fiorina, and Im proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.
Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, shes running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. Shes not a career politician.
Shes a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for Americas economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career.
Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat Californias liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. Im a huge proponent of contested primaries, so Im glad to see the contest in Californias GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate.
Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid Big Government agenda.
I hope youll join me in supporting Carly. Visit her website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Read up on her positions and plans to help get us on the right track.
California is still Reagan Country, and Carly promises her Reagan Conservative values will be put to good use for her state and for our great nation. Shaking it up in California is long overdue. Lets help Carly do it!
- Sarah Palin
Update: Id like to add a few things about my Carly endorsement because some reaction right out of the chute calls for more information:
Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty. She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment.
Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. Thats no RINO. Thats a winner.
- Sarah Palin
If you notice, Sarah had to do a little bit of an update. It seems that some dont understand why Sarah made this bold move and endorsed Carly over Chuck DeVore who some consider the real conservative. Though Im in Texas, both I and my West Coast buddy Stacy Drake kind of liked Chuck DeVore.. We hoped Sarah would take a look at Chuck.
The thing is, Sarah did take a look Chuck as well as Carly, in context of the big picture. Heres the deal, extensive polling shows that DeVore had peaked, and was backing up, losing ground, while liberal Republican Tom Campbell was barely edging out Carly for the nomination. Sarah looked at this and knew she had to shake things up.
Electing Tom Campbell would be like giving Barbara Dont Call Me Maam Boxer another six years. Campbell is not simply a RINO (Republican in name only) he is, to borrow from Mark Steyn, a DIABLO (Democrat in all but name only)
Hes pro-abortion, has an F rating from the NRA, pro-gay marriage, pro-cap and tax, and so on.Campbell has taken campaign donations from a convicted terrorist, which makes him a lot more like Barack Obama than most in the Republican Party would like! Heres the thing that I imagine really set Sarah off though: Campbell has consistently voted against supporting Israel, and as someone who has repeatedly taken Obama to the woodshed for his personal jihad against our Jewish friends and allies, one just cant see Sarah putting up with that in her own party.
In short, Tom Campbell is De De Scozzafava on steroids! Not exactly what our nation needs.
As for DeVore, he has his own issues, with ethics, and we know what Sarah thinks of unethical politicians, now dont we! Seems that DeVore was using [taxpayer] money from his state office to pay his campaign staff. Thats a very big deal.
While we are talking about DeVore, he and his people showed their true colors today. Many of us liked the guy, but he, his staff, and supporters threw a hissy fit when Sarah announced she was going to endorse Carly. DeVores spokesman Joshua Trevino had this to say about his bosss failing campaign:
This grassroots movement is actually a grassroots movement, Carly Fiorina thinks she can find the sheepdog to corral the sheep. Chuck DeVore knows theyre not sheep at all. Theyre Americans. And theyll make their own decisions.
Stay classy there Josh!
This kinda reminds me of the guy who asks the most popular girl to the high school prom, gets turned down, and then decides to go key her car as revenge. Very immature.
BTW
the sheepdog reference comes from the infamous Demon Sheep ad attacking Tom Campbell for lying about being a fiscal Conservative:
Remember now, DeVore sought Sarahs endorsement, which makes the reaction by him and his supporters a real turn off. Theres no crying in politics Chuck!
Stacy Drake offers up her must read take on all of these developments, as a Californian, here.
The bottom line on all of this is quite simple really. Tom Campbell is unacceptable, and Chuck DeVore is simply unelectable. So unacceptable is Campbell that leaving Senator Dont Call Me Maam in office is almost more preferable! Campbell is more dangerous than Senator Boxer. At least Boxer has never taken money from a convicted terrorist Tom Campbell has! And despite her really long list of faults, Barbara Boxer has never failed to support Israel. Tom Campbell, on the other hand, sides with the Obama regime and shares the disdain for our friends and allies.
In short
electing Tom Campbell would be a total disaster for the nation.
Sadly, for those who support DeVore, even after he and his supporters lack of class and professionalism, all you may succeed in doing is electing Tom Campbell.
With that thought in mind, we are enthusiastically endorsing Carly Fiorina and encourage our readers to do the same. Carly was the CEO of Hewlett-Packard. She is the only one in the race who has ever had to make payroll. Not sure about anyone else, but I think we need more seasoned business leaders and a hell of a lot less trial lawyers and constitutional law professors in D.C. How about you?
Sarah Palin is a true leader. She has looked at things, seen what must be done, and picked a winner, someone of principle, who is herself a leader.
Sarah has shaken things up for the good of the team. I bet if Roy was still with us, hed smile in approval and say Lets go!
Carly is known for her rather inventive and entertaining campaign ads, and I agree with my pal Stacy, this is one of the best campaign ads ever. Simply epic. Enjoy:

MY VIEW OF PALINS FIORINA ENDORSEMENT FROM CALIFORNIA
05/07/2010
By Stacy Drake
Anybody that knows me knows that I am a staunch supporter of Governor Palins. I also happen to be a Conservative that lives in California, so I have been following the GOP Senate primary race for some time.
I had studied the candidates and after awhile I came to the conclusion that I wanted to support Chuck DeVore in that race. I followed his campaign, saw him give a speech last month, and even gave him some of my paycheck.
My opinion changed today after Sarah Palin gave her endorsement to DeVores challenger, Carly Fiorina. It wasnt Governor Palins endorsement that got me to change my mind about him, it was his reaction to the endorsement that served as a big red flag warning to this mans leadership capabilities. Plain and simple, Chuck DeVore is no statesmen.
The statement he allowed to be released by his campaign was immature and derogatory. It said:
This grassroots movement is actually a grassroots movement, said DeVore spokesperson Joshua Trevino. Carly Fiorina thinks she can find the sheepdog to corral the sheep. Chuck DeVore knows theyre not sheep at all. Theyre Americans.
And theyll make their own decisions.
I was dumbfounded that he would let that be released in his name. It shows that he is lacking in class and maturity. Are we not electing leaders here? What kind of leader lashes out and lets his staff lash out in this manner? I think they may be in melt-down mode over at his headquarters but that is no excuse. This evening has really highlighted a serious character flaw in what I perceived as a good candidate.
The endorsement wasnt a surprise to me and it didnt catch me off guard. I had a feeling Governor Palin was going to endorse Carly Fiorina for some time. I wont go into detail as to why I felt that, just know that I did.
Thinking that may be the case, I saw no problem maintaining my support for Governor Palin AND supporting Chuck DeVore for the GOP spot in the California Senate race. I stated in a blog I wrote in response to Govenor Palins fair weathered friends awhile back that I dont need to agree with her on every issue to support her.
I said:
Does anybody reading this know anyone they agree with 100% of the time? I sure dont, and if I did, and that person so happened to be a politician I would start to wonder about myself. I dont agree with Governor Palin about everything. I certainly dont agree with all of the candidates she is supporting. But guess what?
Im not going to sit here on my little soap box and have a hissy fit because she didnt respond with time and resources to my email. I actually never sent her PAC an email about any candidates but if I did, I wouldnt expect her to put all of her judgment and consideration aside because an activist told her to.
I wanted to maintain my support for the DeVore campaign but I now realize that Chucks camp would make that impossible for me to do. There is a certain way one can handle the various situations life throws at us. Character shows in difficult times and during difficult circumstances. Tonight I saw Chuck DeVores character and it wasnt pretty.
So, where does that leave this California Conservative? Considering Carly was my second choice and Tom Campbell is nobody I will support, Ive jumped ship into the Carly camp. Call me a flip-flopper all you want
It happens.
I understand Governor Palins endorsement of Fiorina.
It is actually a good move on her part and a good move for the country. I live in California and I know Chuck DeVore has absolutely NO chance of winning in the general election against Barbara Boxer. So why was I supporting DeVore in the first place? Because I liked his message. He said all the right things and I generally believed he would make a good Senator. Not that I ever thought he would actually be a Senator. Another thing I said in that fair weather friends blog post was a bit of foresight on my part. I said:
I am no expert on Kentucky politics but from what Ive read Bill Johnson is a long shot. So realistically this is a race between Rand Paul and Trey Grayson. To those dreamers that think Johnson stands a chance, considering his poll numbers, youre wrong.
Believe me, I live in the land of Chuck DeVore. He seems on the surface to have mountains of support but when you break down the numbers the guy doesnt stand a chance. You have to base any political strategy for the end goal. Incremental victories only carry to the next phase. Supporting Johnson only helps Grayson in the long run by taking votes away from his real competitor. Almost ensuring a victory for Mitch McConnell part II.
I should have listened to myself. Nothing changed and supporting Chuck DeVore wasnt a good strategic plan on my part. Besides, I have no problem with Carly Fiorinas stated positions. Governor Palin updated her original Facebook post to reiterate these positions:
I also highly doubt she would be publicly trashing Governor Palin, or her supporters had the endorsement gone to the other candidate. Carly Fiorina has more class and professionalism than that. I look forward to helping Carly Fiorina win the GOP Primary and I really look forward to helping her kick Barbara Boxer out of the Senate for good.
In the mean time, please enjoy the best campaign ad I have ever seen.
Hero Worship?
Like for Duncan Hunter who can’t manage to get more than 1% of the GOP primary vote?
- JP
Looks like DeVore has been conning everybody. Explains his fulsome support with Republicans of ... 10%! And after 8mths of campaigning with the wind at his back.
Gee thanks for pointing that out...now I’ll change my mind. Sheesh.
Scott Brown and Marco Rubio are exceptional candidates. I am not talking about their politics ,I am talking about personal appeal and charisma.
Chuck Devore doesn’t have it, nor does Carly. If I lived in California, I would probably vote for Campbell , the most electable of the three.
Campbell has consistently voted against supporting Israel, and as someone who has repeatedly taken Obama to the woodshed for his personal jihad against our Jewish friends and allies, one just cant see Sarah putting up with that in her own party.
LOL, I would bet money on it.
