I am so EXCITED this morning as I "stumbled" onto a video of an event that I knew nothing about. I sat and watched the one hour video and wept and praised and feel completely overwhelmed by Yahweh's FAITHFULNESS.
DO YOU KNOW WHY THE CAR BOMBERS DETONATOR DIDN'T GO OFF? I do.
I watched a video of 30,000-40,000 people in TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY last September 2009, that met for a PRAYER MEETING TO PRAY FOR NEW YORK CITY. Right in the very spot the SUV, loaded with explosives to kill hundreds of New Yorkers, THOUSANDS OF BELIEVERS were calling on the Father to have mercy and protect NYC.
I am completely humbled right now as I see the power of prayer, to actually help change our nation. I confess and repent for not believing it would do any good to pray for this country, BUT after watching this video, where RIGHT WHERE THESE PEOPLE WERE PRAYING, a car bomb DID NOT GO OFF. You will understand why when you see this event.

Indeed, this terrorist was amateurish. Other attackers with better preperation will come, and we can’t take anything for granted when defending ourselves (including God’s favor) but I still want to offer this quote

I regularly pray that America’s enemies, both foreign and domestic, will be distracted by internal disputes, jealousy, ineptitude and confusion. I pray their plans will constantly go awry, their cell phone batteries die at critical moments, files and papers are lost, computer hard drives fail. It’s warfare and all that I mentioned are their weapons.
There is no need for a trial run. Terrorists don't do "trial runs". They just blow up whatever is around. They do "dry runs" where they determine the security without explosives or weapons, but "trial runs" where there are actual explosives? Not bloody likely.
Generally the idea is that the bomber is blown up so as not to be available for questioning later. I think the bomber was serious, but he didn't bother to stay around to see if the bomb detonated. I suspect he chickened out on the suicide part and put together his own rudimentary timed triggering device that failed.

Of course, had the materials had detonated as planned, it would have been irrelevant, as the keys likely would have ended up as a molten blob. This is one reason why it doesn’t make sense to view this as a test run to see our reaction. It’s pretty clear this guy expected his “bomb” to go off.
How credible is it that the 1st WTC bomber went to collect a refund on the truck deposit? How credible is it that Richard Reid couldn't light the fuse in his shoe properly? How credible is it that the underwear bomber couldn't manage to set off his bomb...something for which he was trained, too? Yet, that's what happened. These aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.
Why twist yourself in knots to explain why he had the wrong fertilizer when there's a perfectly simple answer, based on substantial track record? Sure, it could have happened the way you surmise, but there's no evidence whatsoever for that, and there is plenty of evidence as to the chronic ineptitude of the jihadist talent pool.
Praise God.
