I know why the Times Square bomb didn't go off.

Posted on 05/06/2010 8:15:49 AM PDT by ladyL

I am so EXCITED this morning as I "stumbled" onto a video of an event that I knew nothing about. I sat and watched the one hour video and wept and praised and feel completely overwhelmed by Yahweh's FAITHFULNESS.

DO YOU KNOW WHY THE CAR BOMBERS DETONATOR DIDN'T GO OFF? I do.

I watched a video of 30,000-40,000 people in TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY last September 2009, that met for a PRAYER MEETING TO PRAY FOR NEW YORK CITY. Right in the very spot the SUV, loaded with explosives to kill hundreds of New Yorkers, THOUSANDS OF BELIEVERS were calling on the Father to have mercy and protect NYC.

I am completely humbled right now as I see the power of prayer, to actually help change our nation. I confess and repent for not believing it would do any good to pray for this country, BUT after watching this video, where RIGHT WHERE THESE PEOPLE WERE PRAYING, a car bomb DID NOT GO OFF. You will understand why when you see this event.

You have got to watch at least the beginning if not all. OUR GOD REIGNS!!!! It is to Him we should be giving thanks for sparing all those lives in Time Square. http://www.nycprayer.org/media_center_facebook.html

God is certainly good, but I think this is more a case of the would-be bomber being a complete idiot.

I think it didn’t go off because it wasn;t supposed to.

I think it was a “trial run” to see how effective our response was.

Really.

Several sessions in a bomb training camp and this guy uses the WRONG FERTILIZER????

How credible does that sound??

Prayer is great but doesn’t negate the laws of physics. It takes an inept ignorant terrorist to do that.

We got lucky. Again.

Prove it!!! That is the problem with any one person claiming to know exactly how and what God does. I know of several incidence where many people have prayed and the outcome has been disastrous. Using this posters logic in reverse, in these cases, his thought process would support that there is no God or that he is a vicious and mean God for letting these bad things happen. If you are going to give God credit for the good things then you have to lay the bad things that happen at his feet as well.

Both/and.
God's sovereign care is demonstrated in this. He providentially enables the idiot.

The rain falls upon the just and the unjust equally.

Death is the wages of sin, and we are ALL guilty.

Somehow I doubt that when Jihadi bombs DO go off it was because God was sitting up there saying “If only they had prayed more or harder, I might have spared them.”

I don't think God is as concerned as you or I over our physical bodies and our material lives. God cares for the salvation of our souls, not the preservation of our lives.

Just my 0.02$.

REAL POWER! AMEN! I've seen the power of prayer work in my own life and in the lives of those I love. We servr an AWESOME GOD and HE is the one that really rules.

I think so too. So amateurish it was aspirational rather than operational.

Bull.
When 9/11 happened people screamed, “How could God let 3000 people die?”
The simple explanation is the 50,000 people worked in those towers.

There are reasons why things happen. Whether you want to say God, Karma or Joss, one never knows how much something that looks bad could have been far worse.

If it weren’t for God, we would be blown to bits. Lord knows, this government by playing around with our security has given our enemies plenty of opportunity to kill a lot more. When George Bush was President, we didn’t have any threats for nine years...because he and his staff took the threat of terrorism seriously. They used whatever was necessary to protect us. The latest president doesn’t care about our security, as is evident by the near misses we’ve had of late. All he wants to do is make nice with our enemies.

If we only had the faith of a mustard seed!!!

Prayer has power. And, when combined with faithful living, life is awesomely amazing, even through trouble times.

thiswas a trial run to detect how the response was and how the exit strategy would work. New York hit in 1993 at the world trade center considered successful. Came back in 2001 and the success was completed. detroit Undies Bomber success in that it allowed for an understanding in how the bomb would or would not work. SUV drove into New York’s Times Square - unsuccessful in being expolded. What will happen on Memorial Day May 31 2010? How about July 4, 2010? The number of people in New York for the Fireworks in the Millions. What about Chicago? Home of the US president. Detroit - exit route Windsor, Ontario. Chicago exit route Sault Ste Marie, Mi/Sault Ste Marie, Ontario 7 hours drive time. Targets to be acquired entertainment complexes - baseball Chicago - Cubs and Red Sox, Detroit Tiger. In Wisconsin Country USA (oshkosh). Massive amounts of carnage is the goal.

>>> 30,000-40,000 people in TIMES SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY last September 2009, that met for a PRAYER MEETING

Or perhaps it was the 70,000 drug dealers, or the 200,000 hookers who worked the same spot ?
