Mark Levin - Palin Would Make a Superb President (She is the anti-Obama)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8pJ4oIOwDc ^ | 4/8/2010 | Mark Levin

Posted on 04/24/2010 1:25:16 AM PDT by Brices Crossroads

The clip of the Great One is only 1:59 and well worth the listen. In response to a caller, he opines that: "Sarah Palin would be a superb President...Palin is one of the most solid conservatives on the national scene...I am a great admirer of Sarah Palin....[and] if you think Obama is doing the wrong things, you should be an admirer of Sarah Palin because she is the anti-Obama."

” This is a non sequitur. Is Levin saying Sarah Palin the only alternative to Obama?

Plus, we don’t even know if she’s going to run.”

It took you and your little coterie of Palin bashers a while to show up. You aren’t really interested in what Levin said. But for those who are interested, he said on April 14:

“Sarah Palin is the one national Republican that doesn’t back down from these people [Obama].”

Then he launched into a scathing critique of Mitt Romney for affecting to praise Obama “when he is right”. He said Romney and Gingrich were weak leaders (in contradistinction to Palin).

http://marklevinfan.com/?p=6676

On your criticism of Levin for employing a nonsequitur, although I am sure Levin does not need me to defend him, you may want to a)read the passage a little more carefully;
and/or b)learn what nonsequitur means.

He did not say that, if you think Obama is doing the wrong things, you should SUPPORT Sarah Palin. He said , if you think Obama is doing the wrong things, you should ADMIRE her. This is not a non sequitur. I can see why you and your cohorts conflate admiration and support. You cannot pretend to admire her, because you support someone else.

Nor did he say she was the only alternative to Obama, only that she alone among national Republicans doesn’t back down from him.

The Palin is a RINO crowd must be sleeping in this morning... just wait until they discover this thread...
I have no problem with Palin supporting McCain. I don't think she should be condemned for doing so. I also don't think that she should be lavishly praised for it either. It's not unusual for politicians to support incumbents.
Not a pedestal, exactly - but I think due account must be taken of the fact that we watched helplessly while a RINO got the Republican nomination for POTUS in 2008 - and, with an incumbent presumptive nominee in '12, the Democrats could be in position to pull an "Operation Chaos" of their own in the Republican primaries of 2012.

Gov. Palin is not the only person who would make a good president; we could do worse than Gov. Haley Barbour, for instance. But it can be argued that, as last election's VP choice "it's her turn," and although I wouldn't buy that argument if Palin were a RINO, it may have a certain weight in some Republican Party circles. I WANT A GOOD CANDIDATE WHO WILL BE A GOOD POTUS - and I fear the possibility that "better" will be the enemy of good enough if we don't coalesce around Palin early.

And that is why I advocate a "Draft Palin" movement early. For what other solid candidate do you think it might be possible to get an unstoppable bandwagon rolling to win the '12 Republican nomination? Palin is a draw.

Mark has probably talked to her many times. He needs to tell her to start her campaign before Romney out-organizes her(sometime after the election) . Given she is the best person to beat Obama, she has to run. He has more pull than us with her, he has a popular radio station.

Some Palinistas say say the exact same things over and over about her too.

This is because the moronic anti-Palin phony conservatives at Free Republic spew the same refuted leftist talking points every day.

I'm sure you'd like pro-Palin posters to shut up, but that isn't going to happen.

“He needs to tell her to start her campaign before Romney out-organizes her(sometime after the election).”

I am really not that worried about Romney out organizing her. He supposedly had the best organization in 2008 and that didn’t help him against a weak, weak field. Against Palin, Mittens will be up against the A-team. He has never faced a candidate as good as she is.

Further, I think she already has him out organized. She has a network of facebook supporters that currently numbers 1,537,000 to 289,000 for Romney. This does not count her supporters on SarahPac, conservatives4palin and numerous other sites. On Facebook alone, she enjoys somewhat more than a 5-1 superiority over Romney. Her vast network can be tapped for volunteers and fundraising at the drop of hat. I think she is in a very enviable position now.

Sarah is one of the few people I will consider voting for. I will not vote for romney.

I like her more than anyone, but she really needs to start brushing up on a lot of topics since she will be subjected to an ungodly amount of scrutiny and derision from all corners.

I know its not fair, but its reality. Sarah has many things going for her but she needs to work on her speech patterns in interviews and needs to get a little more educated on certain areas.

If she runs I will spend day and night volunteering for her as I believe she truly loves this nation and is a true role model for people, but we have to be realistic as to her flaws as well.

RE :”I am really not that worried about Romney out organizing her.

Many posters have been posting that Romney currently has an advantage and that is why we must start organizing for her now(isnt that why Mark is talking about this?) . Republicans are very likely to pick the one they think can beat Obama, versus the best candidate , even if they pick the real loser.(look at Dole and McCain)

Not saying she should make a move now. But once Romney announces, she must too, or we risk the Thompson-Mccain scenareo and maybe Obama for four more years. Mark can play a big role in getting her to move on time since he knows she is our best chance.

Well, all I can say is that Reagan used to stumble on his syntax and occasionally get his facts wrong. He completely lost his train of thought in the first debate with Mondale. But he won two landslides.

Sarah Palin’s assets far outweigh any negatives, but her chief asset is that she is genuine, honest and principled-—a very rare thing in a politician. She also has crackling hot charisma, which has been in short supply in the GOP for a long time.

I guess I don’t want to remake her. She is who she is. There is an old saying: Don’t make the perfect the enemy of the good. I would modify that a little for Palin; Don’t make the perfect the enemy of the near perfect. She is about as close to a perfect candidate as I think conservatives are likely to find anywhere, anytime.

“we risk the Thompson-Mccain scenareo”

I really doubt that. Romney is a worse candidate than McCain and Romney Care (not to mention his other many flaws) is going to be a heavier albatross than anything McCain had to contend with in his past.

Thompson is a fine man, very principled. A lot like Palin in this regard. But he was a lackluster candidate, who needed to start a lot earlier to get known. Palin is already known. And she is a great candidate, qualitatively better than Fred. I think she can start later than an average contender would, simply because she has an army of dedicated, “broken glass” supporters already. Romney has to rely upon his hirelings.

Reagan stumbled on his syntax a number of times in his 1980 convention speech. He was magnificent.

Palin is markedly better recently in tightening up her response to questions. Check out her 11-min. interview with Greta last night to see it demonstrated, posted at C4P.

I noticed that, Al. Her debate with Biden showed that she is able to kick it up a notch when she sees the need. Like every great candidate, she always “knows her audience.”

Reagan’s convention speech WAS great. His impromptu zinger in Nashua was as well. When the teleprompter got ahead of her at times during Sarah Palin’s convention speech, she she didn’t miss a beat.

People never held any little malapropism against Reagan. nor will any such glitches hurt Palin. Clinton and Nixon both had very polished diction and no one ever trusted them.

Margaret Thatcher's friend and former advisor, John O'Sullivan, said the same thing about Palin....that she had the ability to "rise to the occasion" at crucial times. He called it "the mark of a star."

“Margaret Thatcher’s friend and former advisor, John O’Sullivan”

In light of that, he certainly qualifies as an expert in my book. In many ways, she could be our Thatcher.

John O'Sullivan -- former editor of the National Review, executive editor of Radio Free Europe-Radio Liberty in Prague, friend and former special advisor to Margaret Thatcher and author of the book "The President, the Pope, and the Prime Minister" -- on Sarah Palin:

"I know Maggie Thatcher. The two women have a lot in common."
