Reagan’s convention speech WAS great. His impromptu zinger in Nashua was as well. When the teleprompter got ahead of her at times during Sarah Palin’s convention speech, she she didn’t miss a beat.
People never held any little malapropism against Reagan. nor will any such glitches hurt Palin. Clinton and Nixon both had very polished diction and no one ever trusted them.
Margaret Thatcher's friend and former advisor, John O'Sullivan, said the same thing about Palin....that she had the ability to "rise to the occasion" at crucial times. He called it "the mark of a star."
