Reagan stumbled on his syntax a number of times in his 1980 convention speech. He was magnificent.

Palin is markedly better recently in tightening up her response to questions. Check out her 11-min. interview with Greta last night to see it demonstrated, posted at C4P.

I noticed that, Al. Her debate with Biden showed that she is able to kick it up a notch when she sees the need. Like every great candidate, she always “knows her audience.”

Reagan’s convention speech WAS great. His impromptu zinger in Nashua was as well. When the teleprompter got ahead of her at times during Sarah Palin’s convention speech, she she didn’t miss a beat.

People never held any little malapropism against Reagan. nor will any such glitches hurt Palin. Clinton and Nixon both had very polished diction and no one ever trusted them.
