"There is non-controversial stuff here like the preexisting conditions exclusion and those sorts of things," the Texas Republican said. "Now we are not interested in repealing that. And that is frankly a distraction."

My point: not allowing insurance companies to ASSESS RISK is taking away insurance company’s main function. Someone tell me why I’m wrong...I don’t think I am.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Cornyn is another RINO like McCain. They need to defund it.

When will there be a conservative party in the United States? Were the Whigs the end of that?

With armed IRS agents at your door to collect your mandated premium its a tax more than insurance.

Rates will shortly look like the SCHIP programs.

pre-existing conditions it the fundamental economic problem of the whole bill. It eliminates the entire model for health insurance, will bankrupt the companies, and raise the hell out of all our rates. WTF is wrong with this turdbrained idiot?
The solution is to offer tax incentives for individual purchase and phase out the employee/provider model. That ends the pre-existing condition problem 100%.

Doesn't surprise me at all. As head of the NRSC, Cornyn was backing Specter over Toomey right up until Specter's jump, and in CA he threw his support to Fiorina when Larry Elder came offering to run against Boxer.

I agree with you, his statement regarding pre-existing conditions is utter ignorance.
We need better representatives on our side who can understand and explain conservative principles.

All you need to know about Cornyn is that he endorsed Charlie Crist over Marco Rubio in the Florida primary. Everything he says after that is pretty worthless!

Rush told them yesterday “Don’t even try to run on Repeal unless you mean it!” So I guess they came to a fork in the road then they took it.

There is absolutely no way the Republicans will try to repeal provisions forcing the buying of insurance.
No way.
They love it.
It is good fascism, and fits their business cultist model.

Time to retire this old fool.
Heck even a RINO like Mitt Romney has already come flat out for repealing this abomination.

Rates will shortly look like the SCHIP programs
Which was just cancelled in Arizona. Empty treasuries may ultimately do the work the GOP is unwilling to do.
