I saw a map on Fox News (probably during Special Report with Bret Baier) a few days ago that showed all the states that were onboard... I swear one of those states was Connecticut, but now I can't find a map or list of these states anywhere.

I saw a map concerning this issue but Connecticut wasn't on board. I don't remember where I saw the map. There was a hearing last week at the state Capital for people to express support for a resolution but not actual legislation. That idea was rejected recently. A decision on the resolution I think will be made next week.

I wasn’t born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could. I joined the Texas Nationalist Movement last fall and the way I see it, the federal government which has been out of control for years, has finally allowed total disregard for the Founding Principles by one party. The time has come to secede.

My great grandfather, born 100 years before my own birthday
followed Marse Robert. Texas may need to take the lead this time but South Carolina ain’t completely dead yet.

Thanks. The title of that map is misleading. The Texas AG is mounting a legal challenge. The Texas legislature meets only in odd numbered years, unless the gov. calls a special session.

AG Abbott has been sitting on well drafted complaints of election fraud filed by citizens of TX against members of the D Club for swearing to state election officials BO is a NBC to get his name printed on the ballot, BEFORE ascertaining whether he was Constitutionally eligible for the job. In TX, by law, only eligible candidates can get their names printed on the ballot. But for more than 6 (six) months, these complaints have been ignored.

Do you suppose Mr. Abbott, Republican, by the way, will see fit to address these complaints now? This would be much quicker (and less expensive) than trying to mount a court challenge to the mandatory health insurance purchase bill.

Any comments from SC press/media re: Gramnesty and if he’s planning to support the legalizing of 40 million new socialists before 2010 elections to guarantee permanent socialization of America?

Hope to God it passes! Guess we go from calling/e mailing/faxing the US congress to doing the same to all our state legislatures that have not passed healthcare freedom acts.

Abbott knows that without the backing of a friendly Congress, there’s no point. He can’t get cooperation from Hawaii and suing them for the evidence without that will result in years of legal wrangling and stonewalling with no end in sight and at a high monetary cost - which could better be used elsewhere... such as shooting down Obamacare.

“I believe it requires 2/3 of the states to convene a convention to propose amendments and then 3/4 of the states approval for an amendment to become a part of the constitution. A real high hurdle to overcome but possibly it is time to try.”

Is there a reason you didn’t highlight “a convention”?

Have you ever read the Constitution? Recently?

In particular, I call your attention to Article V. There are two ways Amendments can come to pass.

Again, we do not want a Constitutional convention for the purpose of putting forth Amendments.

Amazing, OT1H, that MD is on there.

OTOH, Baltimore is the center of the medical universe. It’s ironic that we are full of welfare-queen and limo-liberal commies while having the best medical institutions anywhere; spoiled rotten.

Perhaps all the great doctors/hospitals put some pressure on.

But I always doubt it’ll take hold in DC-entrenched commie-land.

Yes, I have. I don’t recall everything but the Article in question doesn’t indicate much except exactly what the poster wrote.

How is an Amendment proposal a big threat?

To me, you are saying “constitutional convention”, which implies the idea of wholly scrapping the Constitution or hugely changing it. I don’t see how Art. 5 refers to this possibility. It talks about amendments. Please tell me what I’m missing.

It talks about an Amendment convention, which is what they were discussing.

There is no way we want an open-ended Amendment convention underway.

Why do you say, "open-ended"? Is Art. 5 not the way amendments become part of the Constitution, as has been done some 20-odd times? Does it not say, "proposed amendments", as opposed to a true constitutional convention, which to my mind is "open-ended" and means anything goes? I don't see how Art. 5 says we can scrap it all. Seems to me there has to be some idea of what is wanted before going in.

A convention can propose any number of Amendments. Of course, the States must ratify. Still, it’s not a door I wish to see opened.

The word is the fastest track to SCOTUS is in VA in the Third (?) District. VA AG Ken Cuccinelli is on it.

We must come up with more ways to stop this and resist.
