......I respect Krauthammer’s opinion - despite the gloominess.......

To attempt understanding by rejecting wonkiness is impossible. The exercise is the ultimate in wonkiness and can not be understood without probing wonky depths.

'Thanks - our last best hope may be a lawsuit that suspends the bill's enactment - pending a Supreme Ct ruling?"

Not the entire thing, but some of the provisions, sure. The personal mandate is so profoundly and plainly unconstitutional, I would imagine that an injunction would be granted on that particular provision, pending a hearing on the merits of the case.

There are plenty of other provisions in which Constitutional infirmities may exist, but they're not quite as plain as the personal mandate, IMHO.

We do have to gird ourselves as some of it might survive - the excise tax comes to mind immediately.

I feel it too. I am anxious, angry, and sad, but I feel it in my bones and I have for several months now.

I wonder if even Breyer might get it right.

I think it was foolish for them to all agree. If it fails, they all have egg on their face. If it can win by one vote, it can lose by one vote.

Been praying for the unborn
Been praying for the bill to die
Been praying every day and every night.
I say a Novena and will stop in a store if I am out open my
Novena book and pray for this bill to die.
I fall asleep praying
I wake in the middle of the night and begin praying
I am praying, praying, praying

When my husband's disingenuous boss met privately with JPII, "Emmett" told the Pope that he was praying for him and the Church. The Pope knowing how to read souls pretty well, grabbed his hand gently, looked him square in the eye, and said, "But you must pray mooooooooore." My husband and I always get a kick out of that story. "The boss" was surprised. Ha! Anyway, I love your post. If JPII were still alive, I bet he would look you in the eye, and just say thank you.

So all of the whip counts we have seen are wrong. All the Republicans are lying. Obama basically cancelled his vacation with kids for some serious arm twisting. The fact that of the 37 Democrats we need 36 are pretty damn firm NO, with a couple dozen left out there to get ONE vote from. All of the left leaning MSMers are in on this deception doing this just to make the defeat even more soul crushing. No your logic sounds more rational to me. /sarc

Every day that passes my anxiety level rises.

I fear it will take riots and all, out civil disobedience and eventually civil war to stop Obama.

No matter what he does, no matter how many rules he breaks, the Democraps will not impeach him.

The panel did a coin flip that is slightly better than worthless.

Obama must sign the Senate bill into law before the Senate can pass the House reconciliation bill, which would then go to Obama to sign into law.

....and if Obama does sign the Senate bill, but does not sign the reconciliation...?

Any federal version of health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not specifically grant Congress the power to regulate health care! The people are not bound to comply with any unconstitutional act of Congress! This is the point people need to hammer home with their Congress critters!

Be careful lad,Washington will likely become a violent place at some point over the weekend. Feelings are just running too high for it to be otherwise.

Crapshoot with the court, as Uncle Sam has been doing Medicare for years.

"I wonder if even Breyer might get it right."

Well, if Breyer is as intellectual honest as he claims to be, how could he do anything but strike it? I won't hold my breath.

Personally, I think it will be 6-3, with Stevens joining the majority - assuming of course that Sevens doesn't drop dead first. In the last oral arguments they released on tape, he sounded like he was on death's door.

Then the Senate bills remains the effective law. Remember, Obama must sign this Senate bill that the House is “deeming” *before* the Senate can vote on the House reconciliation bill.

I wonder how the 'Rats'll decide which Rep will cast the vote that gives them the 216?

Joseph Cao will vote yes again, and be the deciding vote in this "bi-partisan" vote.
