Thank you for this, it is an uplifting reminder in a time of despair that this country is a greater force for good. How could it be otherwise when it produces heroes such as this.

The problem is that the distances involved in Afghanistan are often outside the effective range of the M-4. They need a round that has more punch beyond 250 yards. Since we already have 7.62 NATO round for machine guns, and there are several battle proven rifle designs available.
