Liberals are making a bid to restore the "public option," ObamaCare's most controversial and destructive inspiration. Some 18 Senators as we went to pressled by Colorado's Michael Bennet and growing to include New York's Chuck Schumer on Thursdayhave endorsed slipping this government-run insurance entitlement in the reconciliation process that would let Democrats abuse Senate rules to hustle ObamaCare into law with 50 votes. Vehemence among House progressives is also at a fever pitch, though it always is.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius joined the mob, telling MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that if the public option is "part of the decision of the Senate leadership to move forward," then the White House is all-aboard. Right on cue, Majority Leader Harry Reid put out a statement that he'll work to "craft a public option that can overcome procedural obstacles."
On that score, the main obstacles to this agenda aren't procedural but moderates in his own party. Rational Democrats killed the public option because it is hated by the insurers that will be driven out of business by its subsidy advantage, by the doctors and hospitals that will be forced to accept its below-market rates, and by the taxpayers who will get stuck with the bill. On the other hand, this new political strategy might fire up the dispirited liberal baseand allow the White House to cast the GOP as obstructionist going into the health summit next week.
It really does seem as if the Democrats are gearing up for Pickett's reconciliation charge. What was that again about "the best ideas from both parties"?

>>Any version of federal health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution does not specifically list health care as a power to be regulated by Congress
They, of course, use the commerce clause and ignore the rest.
If we want to defeat socialism - we need to amend the constitution
“Once and for all proving the Dems are snakes.”
Nah. Once and for all proving the Dems are
totalitarian scu&bags.
IMHO
The only right and proper “new bill” would be one that crafts a process and plan to get the government completely out of the health care business of the American people. This whole thing didn’t start going off track until the Feds put their stinking hands in the batter back in the 60’s and 70’s.
It’s time to take back the country. This garbage is a good place to start.
Considering the support, or extreme lack thereof, in the numerous polls I’ve seen to date, this is nothing short of a political death wish.
“We’ll shove this so far up your collective a**es come november you won’t ever recover!”
What sweet words and what a joy it would be to watch this whole bunch of Democrat/Communist/Progressive, viet cong/kmehr rouge-loving scu&bags
being escorted to the exits.
IMHO

Why wait?
The medical profession will have to stand up, stick together, and say NO WAY. You'll just have to refuse to treat any medicare patients. In 30 days congress would rescind the bill.
At the same time it would be manditory that the medical profession put the blame on congress and the federal government.
But that won't happen!
Notice that he did NOT say, "craft a public option that has the support of the public". Noooo. He's going for a bill that he can sneek in through the back door.
“March 1, 2010, doctors who take Medicare will see a 21% across the board cut on what were paid.”
nonsense. This is how the whole thing’s gonna get paid...

Some already do. But this is going to cause a landslide.
And don't expect the "public option" (so called) to pay any more than Medicare.
From what I've seen they plan to do this through reconciliation ie no Filibuster. I've also heard that despite no Filibuster, every amendment introduced (in reconciliation) is allowed 36 hours of discussion and there is no limit to the number of amendments that can be introduced; so you “ladder” them out every 36 hours ad infinitum.
I hope this is an accurate observation. Can anybody add to this?
Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

Obama says slight fix will extend Social Security

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollees cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009
Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
Snip
The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.
Snip
Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.
President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees in fiscal 2010, Matz said. We took them at their word, and I cant believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward, he added.

We are bankrupt and they want more entitlements......wow!
Dialogue from “The Patriot”
CORNWALLIS: My reputation suffers because of your incompetence! That man insults me!
TAVINGTON: Quite impressive for a farmer with a pitchfork, wouldn’t you say?
CORNWALLIS: I want you to find that man. I want you to capture him.
TAVINGTON: The man has the loyalty of the people. They protect him. Protect his family. Protect the families of his men. I can capture him for you. But to do so requires the use of tactics that are somewhat what was the word your lordship used? “Brutal”, I think.
CORNWALLIS: Go on.
TAVINGTON: I am preparing to do what is necessary. I alone will assume the full mantle of responsibility for my actions free of the chain of command rendering you blameless. However, if I do this, you and I both know that I can never return to England with honor. What, I wonder, is to become of me?
CORNWALLIS: When this war is over here in the colonies, the new aristocracy will be landowners.
TAVINGTON: Tell me about Ohio.
