Liberals are making a bid to restore the "public option," ObamaCare's most controversial and destructive inspiration. Some 18 Senators as we went to pressled by Colorado's Michael Bennet and growing to include New York's Chuck Schumer on Thursdayhave endorsed slipping this government-run insurance entitlement in the reconciliation process that would let Democrats abuse Senate rules to hustle ObamaCare into law with 50 votes. Vehemence among House progressives is also at a fever pitch, though it always is.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius joined the mob, telling MSNBC's Rachel Maddow that if the public option is "part of the decision of the Senate leadership to move forward," then the White House is all-aboard. Right on cue, Majority Leader Harry Reid put out a statement that he'll work to "craft a public option that can overcome procedural obstacles."
On that score, the main obstacles to this agenda aren't procedural but moderates in his own party. Rational Democrats killed the public option because it is hated by the insurers that will be driven out of business by its subsidy advantage, by the doctors and hospitals that will be forced to accept its below-market rates, and by the taxpayers who will get stuck with the bill. On the other hand, this new political strategy might fire up the dispirited liberal baseand allow the White House to cast the GOP as obstructionist going into the health summit next week.
It really does seem as if the Democrats are gearing up for Pickett's reconciliation charge. What was that again about "the best ideas from both parties"?

Nothing to worry about, we have had free health care for illegal aliens since 1986.
March 1, 2010, doctors who take Medicare will see a 21% across the board cut on what we’re paid.
Sounds like a crisis about to be, doesn’t it?
It appears as though we are gong to get this shoved down our throats no matter what we do.
Obama the Dictator. followed by his mindless minions.
A way out for the republicans to refuse to meet with these bastards on friday.
Really???? Is this true????
Can you start a thread with this fact as a headline?
I believe this fact needs to go to DRUDGE - HANNITY, LEVIN, all the usual suspects!!! It might stop this nonsense in its tracks - again!
And it might also lead to an immediate demand for a certain Kenyan to resign!
The very next day after the November elections when most of these criminals are civilianized should be the day we beginn prosecuting them, a mass prosecution!
I’ll start looking for some information on the Sustainable Growth Rate, or SGR.
Ok Please do - I don’t know what SGR is about - but do please do that and when you post the thread - please ping me.
And thanks!
Yeppers--
At least we can later overturn it with 50 Senate votes now when we take back control.
Mark my words. Violence will ensue
This jam-down in the face of overwhelming public opposition will be a clear and unambiguous signal that the government is illegitimate and governing without the consent of the governed.
Watch what happens.
Listen to ole Tom:
Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves are its only safe depositories.
Thomas Jefferson
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
Thomas Jefferson
Leave no authority existing not responsible to the people.
Thomas Jefferson
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
Thomas Jefferson
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Thomas Jefferson
MAKE OUR DAY RATS! WE’LL SHOVE THIS SO FAR UP YOUR COLLECTIVE A**ES COME NOVEMBER YOU WON’T EVER RECOVER!
Your link goes to Yahoo News not to Drudge and neither had this fact as a headline.
Why is that?
You’re not possibly trying to mislead on purpose are you?
Of course we know you wouldn’t do that...

I suspect that we will all come to be shocked about a month after it passes...when the efforts of these various states to counter the health care package comes into focus. The counter punch could actually move to the Supreme Court level by summer and based on how quick it’s supposed to take effect....the Supreme Court will likely stop it based on state’s right.
Here’s the thing....this all starts to read like a wrestling scenario where bad guy #1 teams with bad guy #2...and this royal rumble is staged...and the ref tosses all the wrestlers out of the match at the key point...so no one wins.
I think this is the script written here...and the Democrats intentionally believe the Supreme Court will halt it...thus giving them a second target beyond the Republican Party. The Supreme Court then becomes “evil”, and helps to focus the 2012 race on more factors than we see currently.
This entire discussion on state’s rights....may have a bigger impact on our political future....than anything since the Civil War.
The only way this bill passes is if the House passes the Senate bill. No substantial changes, especially the public option, would make it through reconciliation. Even if somehow the Senate Parliamentarian allowed it, the GOP can drag reconciliation on until the budget process is complete which is a couple of months. Of course the GOP has to have the cajones to do it.
If reconciliation was so simple, the Dems would have done it already. There is even less of an appetite for this health bill in both houses now that there was one month ago.
However, if I was the GOP, I would not attend the health summit next week or at anytime until this old bill is dead and a new bill is started from scratch. And one with only incremental reform (e.g. tort reform).
There might be limited violence. Most of the people in this country aren’t aware and don’t really care enough to protest violently.
I respectfully say watch all you want. Not much will happen.
Jefferson may have been the most brilliant mind ever in the western hemisphere, but quoting him now, in this failed republic, is only quaint.
You posted to my #6 which was a reply to #3 by Hocndoc and THIS FACT
March 1, 2010, doctors who take Medicare will see a 21% across the board cut on what were paid
which was NOT in the headline story and is NOT in the links you provided to Drudge and Yahoo.
Are you trying to keep Hocndoc from posting THIS FACT about the 21% across the board cut in what doctors are paid in Medicare - coming March 1, 2010???
Hocndoc - please post your thread or if you don’t want to do it yourself - freepmail others who will help you do it!
And THEN get that information to DRUDGE - he needs a headline that reads:
March 1, 2010, doctors who take Medicare will see a 21% across the board cut on what were paid
Any version of federal health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution does not specifically list health care as a power to be regulated by Congress. The people are not bound by any unconstitutional act of Congress. This is the point people need to hammer home with their Congress critters!
