These are just a few examples from the last two days.

You'll also notice the (once again) packed straw poll at CPAC, and a sudden surge in Freepers attacking Sarah Palin at every turn.

It seems the push is already at full force. Mitt Romney is the guy to beat, like it or not (remember that McCain enjoyed -5% support at FR during the campaign), and the GOP is circling the wagons early this time.

Add to that several weekend columns out-of-nowhere attacking Sarah Palin again (George Will, Dorothy Rabinowitz, Kathleen Parker, et al).

let there be no doubt, the organized effort is afoot.

I worked in a town (LEO) that was about 1/4 Mormon. They came across my radar as suspects at a far less rate than any other group except for 7th Day Adventists.

And for the record, I don't belong to either group, just a standard non-denom Protestant - that's what my dog tag said anyway.

As far as their Patriotism, Two of the four LDS Senators voted for the last Amnesty, hence I would rate them below average.

I don’t point out Palin’s weaknesses because I like Romney. That’s easy enough to check, if you go to the old RomneyTruthFile. I was a card-carrying Romney Rejector.

I point out Palin’s weaknesses because I don’t follow male or female messiahs. (Only resurrected ones.)

In the meantime, I want whatever conservative who will win in 2012. I am not a republican. I am an independent conservative.

Palin is just a name. There is no “divine right of Palin” that I know of that makes her the only possible candidate for conservatives.

Gingrich Joins Cantor’s Effort To Remake GOP

What I don't understand is why they want to remake the GOP into the Whig party. If Romney is the candidate they will have removed the republican party from being a viable party in the US.

OTOH, Romney has said that's exactly what he would do if he ran...spend more of his own money. And he's got plenty of it.

I think Sarah can win the nomination but she's got to really be getting at it THIS YEAR as far as planning goes. Fortunately, her still-evolving speaking schedule indicates she's got 2012 on her mind. It will be fun to watch!

Why don't we all do a letter writing campaign to this group and let them know in no uncertain terms that we want a strong conservative. Flood their offices with paper letters, not e-mails. I suggest sending to their district offices, not DC. I know for a fact that letters sent to their district offices get attention and are sent on to them in DC fast. I also know that one or two sentence letters don't get much attention as a couple of paragraph letters do.
