President Barack Obama is planning to host a televised meeting with Republican and Democratic congressional leaders on health care reform.

Land in a ... WHAT??
Er, that was funny... the first time you said it.
With a bloody mary & celery stick.
I agree. Every GOP Senator and Congressman should sign a letter that they will "reach across the aisle" when The Magic Negro produces his colege transcripts, passports, and his birth certificate.
Then I tell him to kiss my white arse..
There's nothing wrong with being an obstructionist of a bill that's unConstitutional. :)
And a "Jerk Alert."
The pubs should demand certain conditions, such as they give their plan first, then zero talks, then the pubs rebutt and then the meeting concludes.
I don’t think they should got to this at all...bad feeling about this...Bos definately going to save face about transparency if this is a go...also he can claim the republicans were part of the bi-partisan vote....that he gave them a chance.
But if they don’t go he can still play this to his advantage....that the republicans couldn’t stand the transparency, that they had no plans or ideas to present etc.
This thing really smells bad.

I think that the plan I suggested is the only way to turn this lose-lose proposal for the pubs into a probable win or at least a draw. It’s the only way to avoid a “damned if you do, damned of you don’t scenario” zero has boxed them into. They should, at the very least, lay their plan out to the broadest public possible - then skip the meeting, asking zero to respond to it there, if he wishes to.
Interesting to see which pubbie goes to a sit down to have the big eared “magic nigro” lecture them.
Boycott this punk and his healthcare takeover or lose what ever seat you have.
This is the perfect opportunity to arrive at the White House with a list of items in the health care bill that are egregious.
Panels to determine who shall be eligible for treatment.
Who makes the decision as to how much a doctor can be reimbursed for treatment.
Who decides which tests are administered to a patient.
The bill is so full of assaults on our constitution and on ourselves that the light of day ought to put an end to this monstrous attempt to destroy our health care.
Revealing all the rules and regs on business, both large and small.
The bill took a year to write. Does the hatemonger believe it can be analyzed in a photo op for an afternoon?
This is an opportunity for us to show the world what is in this damned bill and kill it once and for all.
I’d be happy with a draw at this juncture. Shrewd move on BOS part. I’m not so sure the republicans won’t come up with a way to do this in their favor...at least try to.
BOS not going to let health reform go down without taking someone with him or blaming someone...infact he’ll make it look like he’s smelling like a rose no matter how this goes. Chicago thug style he is surely playing.
But they already did all this before Christmas...that’s what makes this smell so rancid....bottom line is no one wants this bill..it’s too big..too complicated...too expensive. An afternoon chit chat is not going to do the work..they need to start over completely.
After a full year of locked door meetings and completely shutting out the GOP...
1st sentence in GOP proposal should state there can be no discussion of Health Care Reform until a separate Tort Reform bill is written, voted on, passed and signed into law by the President.
Once Tort Reform is law the GOP should refuse to discuss Health Care Reform because passage of Tort Reform has solved the health care cost problems and no further legislation is necessary.
What’s really amazing is that even with an unstoppabale majority in both the House and Senate, we were able to put the brakes on this nightmare. They should have been able to do whatever they want.
These are truly amazing times.
This ‘new’ conversation with the president on health care will be on CSPIN. Of course, my guess is that once it becomes clear that we have a specific set of issues, the entire deal will be scaled down to a two minute photo op.
