Jeri Thompson blasted Fox News host Chris Wallace on the Fred Thompson show today, calling his joke that he hoped Sarah Palin would sit on his lap during an interview with him "inappropriate" and "insipid," and demanding "action from Fox.
Thompson, the wife of the former senator and presidential candidate, told POLITICO's Jonathan Martin that the remark, to Fox Business's Don Imus, amounted to misogyny, and that she was tired of seeing it from "these dirty old men" on Fox, a network that she said ought to be respectful of conservative women.
"Sarah Palin is now part of the Fox family," Thompson said on the show. "She deserves you all watching her back -- and I do not mean it literally."
Wallace, she said, "owes her an apology."
"Not only is she a national figure she deserves the respect that any other man would get in that situation," Thompson said, saying that her inbox was full of complaints from conservative women over the segment, and that the Palin group Team Sarah, as well as the anti-abortion Susan B. Anthony List, were dismayed by the segment.
"I hope that Fox does something about this, and they actually take this on, because it is not funny," Thompson said.

On the other hand, what Rham said was, well, just retarded!
Wallace should be FIRED.
But before he's sacked, just how would Wallace like to tell Todd Palin that he was hoping that Mrs. Palin would snuggle up on his lap for the Fox interview??
This is simply SO outrageously inappropriate, that it's difficult to articulate, and simply appalling that it must be explained in detail why it is so.
There you go. What you said...
The difference between chris wallace and me is that I keep those thought off of the national airwaves....
< NOT the same thing as he's being 'charged' with. Enough of this B.S., folks." <<<<
Well, if the original post in as inaccurate as you state, then WHY has it even been posted to FR??
Do you mean to tell me, that this entire thread is absolutely worthless, as the subject, CHRIS WALLACE stated, "One can only hope," in reply to some vulgarity posed by the utterly vulgar uncouth Imus?
But this thread is many pages long about something alleged stated by Wallace, which actually was NEVER stated??????????
Can't the original posting be EDITED for validity & truth?
What a waste of time this is.....
Chris would fit in nicely over at MSNBC.
Give me a break! Wallace wears make-up, smiles nice, then throws out questions for others to pontificate. This is followed by a FOX News Break, with some hot babe with lots of lip gloss. “Breaking News” FOXNEWS, combines sex with news. Hey, it works for me, I still have enough male hormones coursing through my veins to admit it. You want worse watch NICK at Nite or Disney. How about the top TV shows in the country. Imus is a old school shock jock, and this stuff is his shtick. 99.999% of the country would have missed this if Jeri would have left it between Palin & Wallace. Wallace is a talking head, he is no Tony Snow or even Brit Hume. I can understand the agnst with FOX, men get babes in lip gloss and women get Wallace and (shutter) Imus.
She and her people DO care about this comment, according to the clip that was linked. Did you even listen to it?
The explanation for why Wallace’ idiotic comment is so objectionable makes complete sense to me. it is a conservative woman explaning it, and I, as a man, listened with an open mind and i believe she is RIGHT.
This isnt something sarah herself should complain about- it is up to her supporters to defend her from BEING A SEX OBJECT.
What? You mean this is all being blown out of proportion! How much national media attention will Jeri get from this? Hmmmmm....
That’s right.....Reveals more about Wallace and where he is coming from upstatirs.....”A fool utterith his whole mind”....We’d be in big trouble if we all just laid out every thought that passed our minds!!!!!......
Yep....that’s exactly what I’m saying. I saw/heard Chris Wallace tell the real ‘story’ on Fox & Friends. As I said...much ado about nothing.
“Baba Walters” would rather sit at Fidel Castro’s knee!
If you don’t wish someone as beautiful as Mrs. Palin would sit on your lap, you are gay....see Anderson Cooper, Barney Frank, obama, etc....
Thank you for clearing this up.
Seems to me that MAYBE Chris Wallace has to appear on Imus's show every once in a while, now that the vulgar crude dirty old man Imus is on FOX Business Channel.
As others have pointed out, FOX News has Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteran, both of whom are very intelligent, highly educated women, and then there is that whole slew of BIG LIP bimbo-looking broads who gushingly announce the so-called "breaking" news.
I frankly had a hard time imagining Chris Wallace stating what the OP alleges he stated.
What RILES me about this incident is that there are plenty of times when Governor Palin is marginalized as a pwettie little girl from Outer Alaska when all the gals are Annie Oakley, moose shooting gun slinging women who also pose for Playboy.
It's become very tiresome, but to complain about something that did NOT happen is simply ridiculous.
Do you by any chance know if there is transcript of precises what BRIEBART stated in Nashville, right in front of Governor Palin and one of her daughters?
Thanks again.
Thanks for the REAL story!
He was on Don Imus's show, and dirty olde shock jock Imus asked him if he was going to have Governor Palin sit on his lap for the interview.
After apparently stammerring, Wallace finally managed to sputter, "One can only hope."
This is REALLY irritating, what is being discussed in this thread NEVER actually occurred....
AMEN!!! We’re getting as P.C. as the left. The fake sanctimony all around us is really starting to grate on my nerves.
He's stepping over the line, and Palins people should bait him, get him over the line with both feet for a smack down.
