After reading some more Koran tonight, I had an epiphany.
I realized that some of the worst parts of the Koran were similar to worst parts of the Christian Bible. I now believe many parts of both were misinterpreted.
While I realize that Islam has been violent throughout its history, so has Judeism and Christianity (think Crusades).
I'm not sure I believe in the 72 virgin promise, but I am starting to get Mohammed's believe in a better after-life. I need to read more.
That said, our world has gone to shit. There can be a better place for those who believe.
Yes, I know I've been promoting the opportunity and potential of our original Founding Fathers' intent for years, but they were also persons of faith. I don't know what happened...call it a vision...call it a dream...call it what you like.
This is tough stuff for me. But when you have a "vision" of Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, where do you go?
The last prophet was Mohammed. Yes, I know of his trangressions, the same as others. But his writing are starting to make sense.

Why is this garbage? Because I espouse something you don't believe? Is that fair? Is that what conservatives believe (I am)? Others have no right to their spiritual beliefs?

I am pretty sure there are thousands of Muslims who would chop your head off for referring to their Allah as "God/Allah".

Islam is the last bastion of barbarism. I too have read the koran. It is full of rape and violence and its not comparable to the Bible.
There is a very good saying, its old but still true:
Everything I needed to know about islam, I learned on 9-11.If the koran is starting to make sense to you than you are starting to be a threat to the civilized people around you. Understand, wise people take note of the muslims around them
