Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says the nation will deliver a harsh blow to the "global arrogance" on this year's anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.
"The Islamic Revolution opened a window to liberty for the human race, which was trapped in the dead ends of materialism," Ahmadinejad said during a cabinet meeting on Sunday.
"If the Islamic Revolution had not occurred, liberalism and Marxism would have crushed all human dignity in their power-seeking and money-grubbing claws. Nothing would have remained of human and spiritual principles," he added.
Ahmadinejad said that in the three decades of its history, the Islamic Revolution had inspired some great developments in the world.
The Iranian president made the remarks as the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution approaches.
Iranians are expected to pour into the streets on February 11 to celebrate the occasion in public rallies across the country, as they have done annually over the past three decades.
Maybe the ones the Israelis have. If they have them. If not, the French never gave theirs up, IIRC.
I bet Obamahamas isn't even in the loop on this one. . . Would you trust him with his Muslim and Communist sympathies? Who's he gonna' call?
Here we go again, playing with numbers.
Attack on 9-11.
Attack on 2-11.
11-9=2
Don’t be surprised if it hits on the 9th or 13th.
Fars do they have a special meaning in Iran? Other than being the anniversary of the revolution?
Not really. His main portfolio is negotiating the two state solution between Israel and Palestine. He is the Mideast Peace czar. Dennis Ross is the special adviser for the Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia (which includes Iran) to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The NSC is where the foreign policy decisions on this issue will be made.
Rahm Emanuel served in Israel as a civilian assisting the IDF during the Gulf War. He is planning on celebrating his son's bar mitzvah in Israel. The far right in Israel call him a traitor against Israel, but he has roots there and he has contacts. In any event, Obama doesn't need an intermediary to talk with Bibi.
reactor,,,or,,,
With a WMD launch they could cover Israel with gas/?
dang :*(
Sweet would indicate the latter, what in your experience would be the retaliation?
The best my father taught me was to be responsible for my actions and think about things if I did’nt understand them. He passed in 1978 and I miss him. The state of affairs now at the highest level is stupid at best. I really feel bad for my countrymen nationwide. We are getting quite distressed.
Al Haig?? /sarc>
Cheers!
If they can get it there, Tel Aviv. If not, one of the decadent Gulf States. Decadent in the eyes of the Mad Mullahs that is.
Heads up.
Hey granny I was playin with numbers in my mind also, awhile back on TM, the first date mentioned was 2/2
Quite welcome,,,
Wally the Commie was our worst enemy...
Hey jimbo...you are wise to see the Russian element in this, not too many pick up an this. Last month they sent the units to Iran that she was scawking about and were promised. Incognito player.
to the Chimp-man of Iran.
Fixed it. The little bug is too small to be a great ape, except for the Pan subfamily, which is the Chimpanzees and Bbonobos. But calling him either of those is an insult to chimps and their slightly smaller cousins.
It depends on the circumstances. Rarely do we close down an embassy. Usually, the first to go are non-essential personnel and dependents. In the Gulf War the decision was made initially to keep people there [in Saudi Arabia] yet in 32 other countries we evacuated non-essential personnel and dependents. We finally had an evacuation, i.e., voluntary departure, just before the war started.
The decision to evacuate is a political one more than anything else. I won't go any further than that.
I can just base my opinion on my personal experience and knowledge of the area. The mullahs want to stay in power and will do whatever is necessary to do that. During the Iran-Iraq war, they encouraged many children to fight and walk thru mine fields. It is easy to order someone else to sacrifice their lives, but the people at the top are not about to sacrifice their lives for the cause.
If there is a premptive attack, I hope we get our people out of harms way first.
My guess is they intend to launch a couple of satellites - as a cover for testing ballistic missiles.
Always good advice, but it's not like they sell to us. Nor is it like their rants will have much effect if any of OPEC nations that do sell to us. However, the best way to keep the price of oil down and the best way to insure a steady supply is to Drill Here and Drill NOW.
