It’s called live TV. A person (GOP) used to respond to each point made in the SOTU speech. Made for interesting point-and-counterpoint. It’s what I have seen for years. The GOP doesn’t need to tape/pre-record responses.

I want to hear from them “live”. I vote for them and they need to step up to the plate. Why it changed this year, I don’t know. It’s weird.

not to be a stick in the mud, but I was disappointed in his response. I felt he could have done so much more.

It is difficult to introduce yourself, get your message out and close in just 10 minutes. Considering those restrictions....he was great.

I didn't watch McDonnell's rebuttal, but I did read the text and he knocks it out of the park. One of the best I have seen.

No. And I can find no reference to interest income in the 2010 publication 972 which discusses the child tax credit.

You lose the tax credit if you make too much money, but that’s total adjusted gross income. And you lose it in small chunks as your income goes about $110,000, I think it’s $50 per $1000 over the $110,000 limit, so by $130,000 it’s all gone.

So I guess having interest income, if you missed reporting it, or if it had to be added back in, could have cost you $150 of the credit, but I don’t see it costing the entire tax credit.
