A Michigan defense contractor will voluntarily stop stamping references to Bible verses on combat rifle sights made for the U.S. military, a major buyer of the company's gear.
In a statement released Thursday, Trijicon of Wixom, Mich., says it is also providing to the armed forces free of charge modification kits to remove the Scripture citations from the telescoping sights already in use. The Marine Corps has purchased more than 200,000 Trijicon sights and the Army has bought about 100,000.

Well, I hope the ammo makers are still putting the bacon grease on the bullets anyway.

free of charge modification kits to remove the Scripture citations from the telescoping sights already in use. Absolutely none of which will be used. The idiots who complained about this should be brought up on charges of Treason, convicted, and then summarily shot.
And the rifles they're shot with should have Trijicon sites on them.

It amazed me that ABC was able to make this into a case of stealth crusading and its reporters were able to keep a straight face while making this molehill into a big story.

John 8:12....see it?
"When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
Pretty weird way to evangelize IMHO...

I do believe the United States Constitution prohibits the United States government from deciding what a religious reference is and then demanding it be removed.
Just not their business to do that.

I still want one. Maybe if I leave my Alms basket out long enough I can afford to buy a $1200 scope...

Back during the American Revolution, soldiers had inscribed on their rifles things like “For I was Freeborn” from Acts 22:28.
We DIDN'T create the city on the hill all by ourselves. GOD helped us. And if He has now abandoned us, we have only ourselves to blame and things like are the cause.
I would have thought the company making these would have demonstrated more intestinal fortitude than this.
The continual effort by these politically correct demons to undermine our society, our values, our culture and our history infuriates me.
We need all the help we can get to defeat the lunatic followers of the moon god.

I’m saving up for one. Maybe they will have a sale on those marked ones still in stock. Or they may now sell at a premium.

It is molded onto the housing. Sure, they can provide replacement housings without the markings. Can the recipients of the replacement housings move the optics without damaging the optics? I doubt it.

>"Absolutely none of which will be used." If I guess correctly, the Army will implement an MWO (Modification Work Order) and unit armorers will have to sign off, by serial #, indicating the references have been removed. It will be tracked like a product recall for a quick fix by a car maker in the civilian world. Like I said, just my guess having a little insight as to how the Army operates.

All of the references I've seen thus far have something to do with "light". Unless the user of the sight also has a KJV handy, it isn't evangelizing anything. Having a KJV in your possession in an Islamic country can get your head cut off. The whole thing is a red herring.
