If I guess correctly, the Army will implement an MWO (Modification Work Order) and unit armorers will have to sign off, by serial #, indicating the references have been removed. It will be tracked like a product recall for a quick fix by a car maker in the civilian world. Like I said, just my guess having a little insight as to how the Army operates.

“Just take this epoxy stick, cut off about 1” and knead it till all one color. Press onto the offending lettering and allow to cure (about 5 minutes).

What ever you do, make sure there is no grease or oil on the surface of the lettering prior to applying the putty, else the putty will fall off in 24 hours’”
