A Stability Police Force for the United States: RAND CORP CALLS FOR NATIONAL POLICE FORCE???
RAND COPORATION ^ | 2009 | By: Terrence K. Kelly, Seth G. Jones, James E. Barnett, Keith Crane, Robert C. Davis, Carl Jensen

I know someone who purchased this from RAND.

By page 19 this report goes from discussing the need for a Special Police Force overseas to supplement interventions, to suddenly needing a force that can circumvent Posse Comitatus.

Posse Comitatus exists for a reason and any attempt to circumvent it, not matter how nicely packaged, is a step on the way to "Special" police becoming "Secret" police.

They call it :A STABILITY POLICE FORCE: This study asks several questions. First, is a Stability Police Force (SPF) necessary? An SPF is a high-end police force that engages in a range of tasks such as crowd and riot control, special weapons and tactics (SWAT), and investigations of organized criminal groups. In its ability to operate in stability operations, it is similar to such European forces as the Italian Carabinieri and French Gendarmerie. Its focus on highend tasks makes it fundamentally different from UN or other civilian police, who deal with more routine law and order functions. It is also different from most military forces, which are generally not trained and experienced to conduct policing tasks in a civilian environment. Second, if an SPF is necessary, what should it look like? This includes considering such issues as: its objectives, tasks, and size; its speed of deployment; its institutional capabilities; where it should be headquartered in the U.S. government and how it should be staffed (standing force, reserve force, and hybrid force); and its cost.

O probably paid Rand to come up with it. He’s talked about it enough.

When I want something to remain visible, I post it to different categories that don’t drop off as fast as Breaking News does.

Other than that, I’m not sure what else you can do.

To paraphrase Patton, making the other bastards die for your country is even ‘cooler’.

Especially if the fight is taken to the “leadership,” and not just the government cannon fodder. And they’d have their own William Jefferson Clinton to thank for it, as HE OK’d going after political leaders AND the media/propaganda arms that support them! Think Bosnia, et cetera.

I agree with you, and have long held the belief that those same "leaders" - at many levels - are going to be in for a very rude awakening once they and their families become much more personally involved in the mess they meant to inflict on others, but stay out of themselves.

I hold the same point of view regarding the media enablers. IF and once S truly does HTF, I suspect that may folks may not be as safe, or exempt, as they have currently allowed themselves to believe.

Good thing we've taught our horses basic dressage moves. Dressage originated from the exercises military mounts were taught. Stepping over bodies, kicking someone's heart right out the back of their chest, etc.

My daughter is a dressage practitioner. I thank you for the additional outside-the-box motivation...

Would it not be more profitable to pull the gold teeth and jewelry off the tyrants and their collaborators?

It's not and either/or choice.

It's an "and".

Besides, the cordwood-style piles make the gold teeth and jewelry extraction task more time-efficient.

What does your daughter ride? Hope she’s doing well with it. We’ve gotten a little too old and cheap to keep up with that.

But its’ interresting when you start looking at dressage movements as battlefield techniques. The canter pirouette wold allow you to strike quickly when surrounded by enemies while looking for an escape route. You could think of a piaffe as trampling on the bodies of your enemies. The various passage and half-pass forms will have obvious battlefield applications. And that was all true until the First World War and the advent of rapid-firing weapons.

We are a nation of 300 million....

300 million what? Illegal aliens (20 million at least) and their offspring are about 100 million of that. Think back to the Revolution. About 10% of the population were involved, with about another 20% at the outside, backing them up.

About 30-35% were Tories, of whom many fought with the King's forces, or packed up and left. The rest didn't care one way or the other, or went from one side to the other and back again. Sort of like today's "ïndependent" voters.

53% of active voters voted in Obama, apparently doing whatever their TV told them to.

What are rioters going to do when they’re confronted ...

better question would be whether said folks would make it into their toys first...

then after that, eventually they all must exit to take a leak occassionally...

when we get to that point, its gonna suck being them...

Ya know, armor doctrine has been around a looooong time, including the parts about eating meals and taking leaks in hostile country (its called a “laager” - you circle up your AFVs while they’re refueled and the crews take turns taking breaks. Its not rocket science.)

A lot of folks are sounding like the Frogs at the start of WWI: “French Elan and bayonets will defeat the enemy!” We know how well that worked.

Patriotism and small arms do not defeat armored forces. The only one who had a good point, pointed out that the Yugoslavs under Tito managed to hold out against German armor. Keep in mind, though, they had a little help (the Germans were a bit pre-occupied...) and they really lousy terrain with which to work. .

If a “SPF” is formed, they will not be very nice people. Think “KGB border guards” and you’ll get the idea. With armor, gunships, automatic weapons, and a lack of restraint in using them, they’ll be hard to fight. Add to that the nearly complete lack of outside help (most guerillas
survive on funds and equipment from outside the warzone... but who’s going to help us?) and the situation looks pretty grim. The only “win” scenario I can see is if enough of the National Guard and Regular Military are “in country” and come down on our side.

The local Democrat mayor won't be going to work in a gunship.

Isn't that what the "Lippizaner Stallions" were known for at one time?

“...Dying for my country would be the coolest thing I’ve every done....”

LIVING to help restore your country would be much, much better.

Remember what Patton said. “No dumb bastard ever won a war by dying for his country...you win by making the other dumb bastard die for HIS country” (or ideology, or socialist worker’s paradise utopia, et al...)

The local Democrat mayor ain’t the problem (he sucks, but he’s not the problem). The “elected” representatives and Senators are the problem. They live in DC and are surrounded by loyal troops. Ditto for the “Council of Governors” and the “Czars.”
