Late last night, the White House announced that there would be no pool coverage for Sunday, January 10. While the President had no scheduled events this weekend, there was pool coverage yesterday.
It could be a mere coincidence, or it could be that the White House is trying to catch its breath before responding to bombshell revelations in the upcoming book Game Change,excerpts of which poured out all day yesterday. President Obama already issued a statement about Harry Reid’s “negro dialect” quote, but even more explosive passages have emerged since.
The newest passages from the book to hit Marc Ambinder’s blog could be even more explosive than Reid’s, as several of them involve the Clintons. Among these is an anecdote about the late Ted Kennedy taking offense at President Clinton’s assertion that “A few years ago this guy (Barack Obama) would have been getting us coffee.”
While pool reporters are normally just there to observe and report, the only thing stopping them from peppering the President with questions is the icy stare of the press staff.
Also of interest, Jake Tapper reviews President Obama’s responses to other racially incendiary remarks in the past, which have some crying “Hypocrisy!” I would point out that the devil is in the details. In each case, Obama provides a fairly clear rationale. In Reid’s case, it seems he earned a storehouse of goodwill that the others cited did not.

I would LOVE to see him as press secretary for Hillary. "Uh, uh, I can't respond to that interrogative with sufficient specificity, so, uh, next question, s'il vous plais."
For those of us either raising children, or having raised children, this administration is setting a standard of "no punishment" for reprehensible behavior (school czar), or those absolved of any guilt whatsoever in the panty-bomber snafu. Already his cabinet and czar roster are comprised of people with remarks and videos that woud shame a regular person, let alone a sitting president. Add to that SEIU and ACORN corruption and instead of Obama distancing himself from what Americans see as clearcut ethically challenged affiliations, he embraces them and gifts them with more money and more power.
His legacy is becoming more and more toasted each and every day and he seems impervious to recognizing what Americans see in him as incompetence, corruption and a 100% inability to listen to the massive swell of Americans who want him to stop spending our money on things we never wanted and never authorized and all the things he plans to do instead of balancing America's finances and dropping the green agenda, getting America off foreign fuel by drilling, using coal and getting manufacturing companies huge breaks FOR AMERICAN WORKERS jobs (not illegal or "amnestied" aliens) which he refuses to do.
Not that I am defending Clinton in any way, but isn’t it true that new members of the house/senate DO get coffee, etc., for the veteran members? I could swear I read that someplace.

A big thing left out of that exchange is Schmitt or whatever his name is had to admit it would have been an epic blowout without Palin.
Odd how all the quotes from the book so far hurt everyone but Obama (well except for maybe his quote on Biden).

Nonsense. Clinton absolutely meant it is the racist sense, but not like you think. He wasn’t saying Obama wasn’t qualified, he was saying it was a miracle he had come so far in the land of the right wing oppressors.
