Late last night, the White House announced that there would be no pool coverage for Sunday, January 10. While the President had no scheduled events this weekend, there was pool coverage yesterday.
It could be a mere coincidence, or it could be that the White House is trying to catch its breath before responding to bombshell revelations in the upcoming book Game Change,excerpts of which poured out all day yesterday. President Obama already issued a statement about Harry Reid’s “negro dialect” quote, but even more explosive passages have emerged since.
The newest passages from the book to hit Marc Ambinder’s blog could be even more explosive than Reid’s, as several of them involve the Clintons. Among these is an anecdote about the late Ted Kennedy taking offense at President Clinton’s assertion that “A few years ago this guy (Barack Obama) would have been getting us coffee.”
While pool reporters are normally just there to observe and report, the only thing stopping them from peppering the President with questions is the icy stare of the press staff.
Also of interest, Jake Tapper reviews President Obama’s responses to other racially incendiary remarks in the past, which have some crying “Hypocrisy!” I would point out that the devil is in the details. In each case, Obama provides a fairly clear rationale. In Reid’s case, it seems he earned a storehouse of goodwill that the others cited did not.

If you do not view this statement in a racial context it is a fair assessment from Clinton. I still don’t understand how or why the national media and the DNC declared Obama to be ready and qualified.
Obama is more “staff” material vs holding the highest office in the land. Palin was (and is) far more qualified but that did not fit the agenda of the media who gushed over Obama and immediately went after Palin.
I don’t think Clinton meant anything racial in the statement (if true, I am always a little suspicious of these books) and he nailed it.
Well, there is a game change of a type. Boehner’s Chief of Staff died at 46. Part of the the people that wrote the Contract for America.

No lie there. Reid has such a storehouse of leftist goodwill that he could come up to obama on national TV and say, "Hey! Obama, ma ni--a! Wassup?" and that would be OK.
He probably would have spit into the coffee surreptitiously, similarly to his giving the “Finger†to Hillary before a North Carolina audience and McCain before a Jacksonville, FL audience.

I didn’t take that as a racial slur. I saw it in the same vein as “at the Pentagon, Majors make coffee.” Obama several years ago was a nobody. He *would* have been getting Clinton coffee.
And probably bowing to him.
Can we buy them, like carbon credits? It would be like Reparations, only we’d all get something out of it.
And he would have stole WH coffee, creamer, and packets of sugar to take home and give out to his friends. Oh, and a few WH monogrammed cups, I'm sure.
My guess is the 0bama crew has a hit list of anyone that supported Cankles for pres. or anyone that might be seen as a liability for the 2010 & 2012 elections. Dingy Harry delivered on health care, but just barely and not on 0bama’s timetable. After the State of the Union, Harry may well be gone as the senate leader.
