Digital News Report Besides collecting taxes and going after tax cheats, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) will be going after Americans who do not purchase private health insurance.
The new health care legislation being debated in Congress will put the IRS in charge of making sure Americans purchase a health insurance policy. Those who dont pay will be penalized because all Americans will be forced to purchase a policy.
Besides making sure citizens do buy insurance, the IRS will assess penalties on those who do not. They will also collect new fees from businesses and oversee enforcement.
Already understaffed and overburdened, the IRS will need more agents. The CBO estimates that the extra cost would be $5 to $10 billion over the first 10 years. So far, neither bill in the House or the Senate includes any funding this.
I suspect this to be tied up in court for a while. Hopefully, this court won’t roll over for the New New Deal like the previous one did.
The truly funny part about this is how many Americans, no matter how much wealth they have, are hard pressed to remember to tie their shoes after they put them on in the morning.
Americans who drive without drivers licenses, because they lost them on the same day and figured they were covered. Americans who can’t find their rear end without a road map and a flashlight.
Democrats.
And just wait till the Liberals learn about what tyranny is all about under their ideology. They gladly helped it happen but won't realize it until it is too late.
“United States vs Reynolds...
no citizen can be coerced to enter into a contract...”
-
I am trying to find this and read it.
Can you direct me?
I found two wrong ones already:
United States v. Reynolds, 345 U.S. 1 (1953), is a landmark legal case in 1953 that saw the formal recognition of State Secrets Privilege, a judicially recognized extension of presidential power.
and
Reynolds v. United States, 98 U.S. 145 (1878), was a Supreme Court of the United States case that held that religious duty was not a suitable defense to a criminal indictment.
That’s funny, I just paid my madatory auto insurance... Constitution doesn’t mean squat! Every man for himself!
Careful...I saw a news segment on cable this weekend about how IRS agents are now receiving police style weapons training. Seems like they are really gearing up to put teeth in their attempts to force us “deadbeats” to put “skin in the game.”
Im not a very religious person, but I’m inclined to say the only thing worse than this is that “mark of the beast” scenario I keep hearing about. If we don’t stand up to this, why would we stand up to the other? Accepting either one results in damnation.
Seems feasible to kill the IRS person, go to jail, and get all the FREE health care you want as well as be treated as a hero by the rest of the inmates . Be sure to do in a state without the death penalty .
Won’t it be great to deal with the IRS on this?
How about when they start fining people they erroneously charge with not having insurance? That will be real fun to try to get that money back.
Hey it’s easily explained... if you don’t drive you don’t have to buy auto insurance... if you don’t live, you won’t have to buy into ObamaCare...
Yea and I call BS...another propaganda piece to whip up the lemmings.....some people will jump on any bandwagon just for the hysteria factor.
Auto insurance isn’t necessary if you don’t drive the vehicle on public roads.
You know what, I’m getting up there in years and I really don’t care any more.
No, this is not hysteria. It has been discussed several times in the course of discussion of the bill. The IRS will be responsible for enforcing Obamacare; it has the power to levy fines, seize your assets and to send you to jail for not complying.
“No citizen can be coerced to enter into a contract. Indentured Servitude and all that jazz. Its settled law.”
Like Social Security? They don’t see it as a contract, but, rather, as a levied tax with benefits you can receive. If you obtain alternative insurance they wave the additional tax. See, tyranny is all in how you pose the answer.
That’s how the “ Halfrican “ got elected .
What will you do when you wake up one morning and find that your dollars are worthless and that you need the UN "Obama" currency?
But...
you were not mandated to purchase a car,
and if you want to drive it around on private property,
or just park it in your garage to rebuild it or as a collector,
you are not required to insure it.
-
Your State government may require a person who drives a vehicle
on a public highway to provide proof that they are financially capable
of compensating other drivers on the highway for any damage that
may be caused to their property.
This program protects one driver from losses
caused by another driver while on a public highway.
-
A bank or other lending institution may require that the person who
is financing a vehicle should provide proof that they are financially
capable of compensating the lender for any damage that may be
caused to the vehicle.
This protects the lending institution from losses caused by the driver.
-
It is totally unprecedented (and unconstitutional) for the federal government
to require all residents to purchase health insurance,
or any other good or service.
