A White House official said the incident was an attempted act of terrorism. The FBI is investigating and President Obama, celebrating Christmas in Hawaii, was told of the incident about three hours after the plane landed, officials said.

Obama has told White House officials that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel, a spokesman said. Nevertheless, officials said, they are not prepared to raise the terrorism alert level, currently at orange -- or the second-highest of five levels -- for domestic and international air travel.

9am Hawaii time is 2pm Detroit Time (5 hours ahead) the plane landed at 11:50-12:01pm Est.(FAA says 11:50, airline says 12:01pm). If Obama was told at 9am Hawaii time there is a 2 hour delay in informing him.

Their original press release said he was advised between 9am-9:30 Hawaii time.

Now covering Obama’s rear end will be the most important part.

And the left lost their minds over 7 minutes.

Obama was MIA for at least 2 hours during at terrorist attack on American Soil and the media is now doing everything possible to cover his rear end.

the incident happened before 7 am..maybe more like 6 to 6:30 am Hawaii time..dont know the latest.

so yeah, that gets closer to 3 hour gap.
and reports are that he was saying things AT THE TIME that would make it a terrorist attack..and Obamanazi should have been notified.

If everyone is saying that incendiary devices and explosive devices are the same thing then I will still correct them.

When they (and you) insist that they are the same then I will stop correcting and simply understand that they and you are morons.

The article pointed out that what he had was an incendiary device and not an explosive device.

Simply put, it has to do with speed of combustion, deflagration vs conflagration, etc. but I’m sure that you already knew that.

Obviously if your reading skills match your writing skills it is no wonder why you do not understand my point.

Whether Obama was told withing 10 seconds of the ruckus on the airplane or told 3 hours later his role is still the same based on the information available at the time. The only thing he can do is slow the process down. He doesn’t order any investigations, he doesn’t order any arrests, he doesn’t “do” anything. It was already being done. The people on the ground and the systems in place were already on top of it without any presidential direction.

C’mon, do you really expect that obama has a list of actions that he personally orders to commence on something like this?

Besides that, so far I’ve not seen any evidence that there was actually a three hour gap, and even if there was, so what? Don’t you think that the report needs to tell whether this was the act of a deranged individual (which it seems to be) or part of a widespread active attack? If you’re going to report to the president then you better have some answers and you might not have those answers in the first 10 minutes. Or even the first hour.

If the president really needs to have real time information at all times then he should just carry CNN and FOX with him where ever he goes. Oh yeah, he has people to do that for him. Duh.

Officials described the device as incendiary rather than explosive, pending tests by forensics experts at the FBI Authorities have yet to verify the claim, and they expect to conduct several more interviews before they determine whether he is credible, the official said. His claims to AQ were unconfirmed. And President was notified within 90 minutes. Pretty much your assessment of the situation is contradicted by the article, but don't let the facts stand in your way of telling everyone what you think should be done, when and how

As I said(two things) both which are correct:

1.) A foreign national who is on a U.S. government watch list of people with suspected terrorist ties to Al Qaeda, gets on a plane headed to the U.S. and attempts to blow the plane up over U.S. soil.

2.)The CIC should be informed ASAP whenever our country is under attack.

So don't lecture me, telling me I'm ignoring a crappy article that is wrong.

And don't lecture me about the 90 minutes vs. 3 hours controversy. I gave no opinion on which was the case. I simply said that the president(whatever was the case) should be notified ASAP.

What I want to know is who has the 'football'? Maybe they should have called that guy. Otherwise, it is incredibly stupid to proclaim to the world that we have our pants down in case someone decides a nuclear war might be survivable. Three hours is forever in a fast developing situation.
