I dont travel in liberal circles much, so last night was a real eye-opener as to how much this country is in deep doo-doo.
I went to my brothers house (Marin County, CA) for our familys annual Dungeness crab feast. Its no secret in my family that my political position is hard starboard at flank speed, so out of deference to the occasion I made a personal vow not to steer the conversation to current events.
Alas, my best intentions were scuttled by my brothers neighbor lady let slip a snarky comment about Sarah Palin not believing in global warming.
that the real Palin never stated that I can see Russia from my house,
Gibson Obama interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling? How does it feel to win? How does your family feel about your winning breaking a glass ceiling? Who will be your VP? Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP? Will you accept public finance? What issues is your campaign about? Will you visit Iraq? Will you debate McCain at a town hall? What did you think of your competitors [Clinton] speech?
Gibson Palin interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job youre seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders? Arent you conceited to be seeking this high level job? Questions about foreign policy -territorial integrity of Georgia -allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO -NATO treaty -Iranian nuclear threat -what to do if Israel attacks Iran -Al Qaeda motivations -the Bush Doctrine -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin] http://theanchoressonline.com/2008/09/12/side-by-side-gibson-questions-more/
Yep, 1 1/2 pound crabs at that! You have to attack them with boiling water and an icepick.
Wrong link. Here it is. Gibsons interview with Obama, when he became the presumptive nominee, and his talk with Gov. Palin:
Even the camera angle was designed to be prejudiced against Palin. She is filmed from the side and slightly with her back to the camera. In contrast, the film crew placed the long shot camera facing Obama so at all times when he is speaking the camera looks him in the face rather than looking at his back.
Obama was asked much easier questions mostly about feelings about winning, breaking the glass ceiling and 2008 campaign decisions. In contrast, Palin was asked numerous specific policy and military strategy questions that required extensive knowledge about treaties, U.S. anti-terrorism strategy and world history. And Gibson misquoted Palin
Theres no doubt the Charles Gibson interviews showed extreme prejudice against Palin and extreme favoritism towards Obama
He constantly questioned her ability to lead but never questioned Obamas ability to lead, all the more amazing considering that Palin was the only one with executive experience.

She had a clue.
Remember **ALL** Marxists ( I refuse to call them liberals) ***LIE***!!!
If a person tells me they are liberal, I immediately know two things:
1) They will **LIE** about anything.
2) They are Marxists.
In 1971, we moved from the East Cost to the West Coast.
The only things I knew about Marin at that time, were:
It was north of San Francisco.
I could catch a helicopter to SFO and save hours of driving and parking.
We could buy property in Lucas Valley that actually had a yard and a fence.
Our kids could walk to school.
Within a few months, I knew that I had made a big mistake.
It was like living in a different world. There was no love for a capitalist, who hunted/fished and went to church on a regular basis.
In a couple of years, our older son went from mild/seasonal asthma to trips to the ER and stays in the hospital. It seemed to happen at about the same time, 4pm +- 30 minutes. The liberal Ped couldn’t figure it out, and the er docs liked the repeat business.
After a severe attack which placed my son in the hospital for a couple of days and poor RXing by the ped. I fired that ped and found a new ped who had trained at NIH.
We told him what seemed to be happening and the time. He had me stay home for a few days to monitor while he changed the meds. Like clockwork, the cold wind would shoot up Lucas Valley Road at about 4 pm, +- 30 minutes, and our son would start wheezing.
The Ped told us to be ready to travel east with suitcases when the next attack started. The next day, the cold wind came up, and our son started wheezing. We jumped into the loaded vehicle headed north on 101 when we turned east on 37, his breathing started to improve. By the time we got to Sears Point, he was still better. We got on 80 and headed to Sacramento. He was worse in Fairfield, which is really winding in the late afternoon. By the time we got to Sacremento, his wheezing had stopped.
The company was making realignments, and I could move to Sacramento. We did. Our son got better, and we left the liberal hell hole known as Marin.
BFL In Petaluma
I have no idea but they were all educators....does that tell you something.
A line I’ve always found to settle the situation is, If Gov Palin can shoot wolves from airplanes, she can handle congress.
Pray for America and Gov Palin
The price of crab this year is awesome!
At $2.99 a lb. I’ve already eaten three this month...that’s three more than I’ve eaten in the last 10 years!
And they are just fabulous tasting too!
Sweet, heavy and $2.99/lb.
Better half is bringing more home tonight for dinner...
MMM MMMM MMMMM!
Topic:
“My dinner with a brainless liberal last night.”
You had dinner with my brother last night?
It bodes ill ...
I thought she gave a fine and honest answer too. My point was Tina Fey delivered the joke “I can see Russia from my front porch” in a ditzy air head way that is what many fools actually think is what Palin said.
My wife is a federal employee, yet still manages to be a conservative.
I think the difference is that if you’re ALREADY liberal and work for the government, or become a social worker, then you use your employment as an excuse.
However, if you’re already a conservative and take such a job, you do it for whatever reasons you feel you should, but it doesn’t change you.
Even though 9 out of 10 such conversations as the OP had end in dead-ends, once in a while, you might light a fire in their feeble little brains, and actually help them see the light.
And sometimes, that 1 in 10 might be enough to make the difference at the voting booth.
None of them can explain why they don't like Sarah Palin. They just don't. Probably because their DNC daily talking points told them to not like her.
Oh, it’s more visceral than just a political talking point.
2 Cor 2:15-16
For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life. And who is equal to such a task?
