But two Hollywood conservatives (yes, there are some) have called upon the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to rescind the prestigious, profitable gold Oscar statuette that it gave ex-Vice President Al Gore two years ago for the environmental movie "An Inconvenient Truth."

PING!
Original Soundtrack by Milli Vanilli.
It’s a start.
Oh, I so hope he loses his shirt. Even with all he has, I picture him as a hobo trying to con someone out of a dollar for a 50 cent cup of coffee.
Has any Oscar been taken back? This just shows that the Academy, like global warming, like the Nobel Prize are all political issues not based on talent.
More like billions.
Won’t ever happen but it’s still good they are doing this. Maybe it will make up for the lack of coverage on the MSM and have people going “Huh? They want him to give back his Oscar? FAKED THE DATA? What?”
Oh, let him keep the Oscar.
Since algore INTENDED to do something.
Just like Obama and the Nobel Peace Price.
Whatever the specific reason, an Academy Award is award for great acting or putting on a convincing show. Of anybody, Al deserves one!

Does the Academy have an award for best political propaganda? If so, algore definitely earned that award and should keep his little trophy.
They’ll just change the category to whatever “Spinal Tap” would have fallen in.
Same genre.
At least Spinal Tap was funny...
This is a great move! Why? Most Americans probably don’t know about the UK High Court ruling that Gore’s contains serious “inaccuracies.” But they do pay attention to the Oscars...
I picture algore in prison.
If anything the Academy should simply re-award the Oscars for algore but in a different category, after all, they are rewarding the very best in fictional works.
Ah Ha! An inconvenient Oscar.
What did Gore know and when did he know it?
Speaking of Milli Vanilli .. hadn’t they just won a major music award when the ‘stuff’ hit the fan? Did they have to return the award?
IIRC, Gore’s Oscar was in the ‘documentary’ category; if in fact, as it appears, the entire AGW thing was a fraud, why wouldn’t the academy down the line have the right to demand its return.
Not that it’s gonna happen.
