Has any Oscar been taken back? This just shows that the Academy, like global warming, like the Nobel Prize are all political issues not based on talent.

Won’t ever happen but it’s still good they are doing this. Maybe it will make up for the lack of coverage on the MSM and have people going “Huh? They want him to give back his Oscar? FAKED THE DATA? What?”

Whatever the specific reason, an Academy Award is award for great acting or putting on a convincing show. Of anybody, Al deserves one!

Does the Academy have an award for best political propaganda? If so, algore definitely earned that award and should keep his little trophy.

They’ll just change the category to whatever “Spinal Tap” would have fallen in.
Same genre.

This is a great move! Why? Most Americans probably don’t know about the UK High Court ruling that Gore’s contains serious “inaccuracies.” But they do pay attention to the Oscars...

If anything the Academy should simply re-award the Oscars for algore but in a different category, after all, they are rewarding the very best in fictional works.

I suspect this aimed at the Academy, rather than at Gore’s ill-gotten Oscar (and fortune). Look for more of a row when the Academy nominates a clearly undeserving and politically motivated film— there will be a loud response.....
