UN scientists turn on each other:
Climage Depot ^ | Friday, November 27, 2009 | Marc Morano

A UN scientist is declaring that his three fellow UN climate panel colleagues "should be barred from the IPCC process." In a November 26, 2009 message on his website, UN IPCC contributing author Dr. Eduardo Zorita writes: "CRU files: Why I think that Michael Mann, Phil Jones and Stefan Rahmstorf should be barred from the IPCC process."

Zorita writes that the short answer to that question is: Short answer: "Because the scientific assessments in which they may take part are not credible anymore."

Zorita indicates that he is aware that he is putting his career in jeopardy by going after the upper echelon of UN IPCC scientists. "By writing these lines I will just probably achieve that a few of my future studies will, again, not see the light of publication," Zorita candidly admits, a reference to the ClimateGate emails discussing how to suppress data and scientific studies that do not agree with the UN IPCC views.

“MSM is still avoiding this.... “

So what? Most everyone has heard about it now anyway. Look at the Van Jones scandal; the MSM never reported on it and he had to resign anyway.

The MSM has brought themselves to the worst state possible for a news outlet — that of total irrelevancy.

Things like this that they choose to ignore only hasten their demise and the rise of alternate sources.

We turn the TV on at either 5PM or 6PM to catch the local weather. Sound is off until the weather segment starts. Then the TV goes off. We videotape two shows (NCIS and NCIS-LA). And even then the propaganda gets through. One of the recent NCIS-LA episodes was about the "evil militia movement". I wanted to heave a brick at the set.

They are and its working for them. Even here there are many less articles today than yesterday.

That doesn't mean it's working. That means everyone here with a shred of intellectual honesty knows AGW is a hoax.

As Winston Churchill says, "There's no point in making the rubble bounce."

Cheers!

This brouhaha reminds me of children finding out that Santa Claus is not real.

To ease the stress on the demented - the US Government will still provide a sleigh and reindeers - just send the bill to the taxpayers!!!

I think that what will happen is that a few fraudsters will resign (and take equally comfortable but lower profile positions in the hopes of rehabilitation later))in return for damping down any investigation.
“Mistakes were made”, etc., will be as close to an admission of wrong doing as is likely to be demanded and there will be no, none, zero legal consequences to anyone involved. I also don't believe those passing out the grants really want their dirty laundry aired in open court either so no matter how they've been defrauded they'll be willing to forget since they'll see nothing to forgive and the sooner the better.
So much money is being made and will be made there will either be a discovery of heretofore unpublished data that confirms as correct what has been discredited or
some statements from the AGW cult that they never really depended upon the questionable (read false)data in the first place.

And the global warming band will play on.

What was most disappointing was Weather Underground's founder and main blogger floundering over an explanation. A good share of the weather wonk minions at wu aren't buying it either.

Not that I disrespect the guy, but one trait of those in academia is the inability to admit that they are wrong.

You know, this might just bring about the changes that make your story EFAD not have to go down.

We can only hope.

Under the radar, conservatives are emailing everyone they know with the evidence. My software developer friends were treated with snippets from the HARRY_READ_ME.txt file, with the whole document as an attachment.

I agree. They can have show trials and purges of the conspriators, but that doesn’t change the data. The data still show there is no global warming.

This thing is over.

Great article,
Caught in Another Untruth?

THEN: UN IPCC's Phil Jones, Dec 3, 2008: 'About 2 months ago I deleted loads of emails, so have very little – if anything at all' - NOW: UN IPCC's Phil Jones, Nov 24, 2009: 'We've not deleted any emails or data here at CRU'

The fact he is not gone, or been removed makes this even more of a joke, they seem like an arrogant bunch

I've done a lot scientific software development (PhD in molecular physics, classified DoD work, engineering simulations, financial time series modeling) in Fortran, including government labs and private industry.

If I had kept the same lousy version control or data management practices that these people did, I'd have been out on my ear.

For one of my codes, I had to verify my results against those of an entirely different mathematical technique (on the same system) from a twenty-year-old paper. We duplicated the results to three or four decimal places. And these #^*%$!! can't even duplicate their OWN published work from the OWN datasets and their OWN codes to any better than the size of the global warming they are claiming to see. (Signal-to-noise ratio of 1-to-1, in effect).

Strip them of their PhDs, fire them, and bar them from further work in science.

Cheers!

It is just more of Ayn Rand’s writings coming true. There are plenty of naysayers to talk about her sophomoric writing style and all that but she nailed it all down long ago. I can almost quote word for word where she said that “free scientific inquiry” is a redundancy and government sponsored scientific inquiry is a contradiction in terms. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trust the government or anyone who is making huge sums of money by pleasing the government.

I sometimes think that the single most amazing thing about people is that so many are so quick to believe the government before they will believe their oldest and most trusted friend.

With the left, belief in the gov’t takes on a religious level of impenatrability.

They believe that the elites have a “divine will” and that they have the best intentions and will work everything for good.

A perversion of Rom 8:28.
