(CNSNews.com) - When asked whether al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden should have the right to remain silent and be given a lawyer, Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) told CNSNews.com that everyone who is accused of a crime should have the same "basic rights" afforded by the U.S. Constitution..
On Capitol Hill on Nov. 19, CNSNews.com asked Kucinich, If and when the U.S. captures Osama Bin Laden, should he have the right to remain silent and be given a lawyer--told he can get a lawyer?
Kucinich said: I think that America does best when the values that we want other nations to share that we profess and stand by, and I think that every one who is accused of a crime should have the basic rights that are afforded. I mean, thats what Americas about.

What about space aliens?
Some of these people are essentially enemy agents, pushing a viral meme intended to destroy a nation.
Some are (useful) idiots who have simply fallen for the above.
Which is which? And does it matter?
Think that we can "trust" Osama Bin Laden to testify truthfully when his Islamic faith permits him to lie to the kufir without it being "wrong"?
Think we wouldn't see 1,000 jihadists demanding his release if he was brought to NYC?
Kookcinich needs to go away to the funny farm.
It doesn't make us "better", it makes us foolish. The AQ handbook describes how to use the American legal system to take down the American system of government. Just as the Leftist anarchist-socialists do.
He’s a looney tune...
I mad at you. You beat me to the punch!
He is as far left as Obama. Why does Ohio elect him?

When an act of war is committed against another, civil and criminal laws no longer apply. These are political acts of violence and not for the gentry. These United States provide Constitutionally protected rights for her citizenry. It does not apply to the rest of the world. Any congressman who postulates anything but this is not worthy of the mantle of the office they hold.
bin Laden did not commit a crime against any U.S. citizen, he committed an act of war against these United States.
I think this cat is an enemy agent.
Right, and what about times they could have saved lives by revealing that they knew about Enigma, but they could fight a more effective war in the long run by keeping it secret?
Things like that are ABSOLUTELY necessary in war.
Good old Dennis “bankrupt the city of Cleveland” Kucinich. He did to Cleveland 30 years ago, what Obama’s doing to the US.
Everyone has “rights” to these idiots except taxpayers.
Kook-spinach is off his meds again.
Just when I thought he couldn’t get smaller....
“Why does Ohio elect him?”
Because the people in his district have been union members for 3 or 4 generations. The Near West Side. Auto and steel workers.
So I guess that means he’s tossing the Geneva Convention(s) out?
“Why does Ohio elect him?”
Kind of interesting situation really. The vast majority of his constituents are ethnic union dems (mostly auto and steel workers). I’m sure they would disagree with him vehemently on many issues.
But it’s amazing the degree to which a politician can tailor his message to his audience. When it’s re-election time around here, her goes backt o his tried and true message: “I’m fighting against the corporate fat cats for you little guys”.
Works every time.
“Why does Ohio elect him?”
Not all of Ohio does, just the people in the 10th District.
Remember a few years back when liberals were expressing fear about “paperless voting machines”? They were concerned WE would cheat? Well, they project on to us what ever crime they’re up to... and my guess is they’re rigging the machines...
