The Gladney beating took place at a forum on ‘Aging’, sponsored by Rep. Russ Carnahan. Carnahan had been caught flat-footed by earlier protests. This time he was more prepared; the day before the forum, Sara Howard took over as his communications director. Ms. Howard is a veteran leftist activist, holding senior positions with SEIU.
SEIU and partisan hacks like Media Matters have tried to spin away the Gladney beating. They would have you believe a 130 lb diabetic, recovering luekemia patient, picked a fight with men almost twice his size. The police report puts an end to that lie.

The majority of DAs are primarily politicians, and secondarily prosecutors.
ADAs are a mix, but are largely career prosecutors of immense dedication.

One of the comments on the link asked if one of the arrested was a candidate for the St Louis mayoral race.
Gladney would be well advized to start two suits, one for assault and battery in State Civil Court, and a parallel civil rights violation claim in federal court ( big money).
He needs two jury trials goinig on here. I would donate to help fund them.
The suit should not be just against the punk thugs theselves, but against SEIU itself, who had them actingthere on behalf of the Union.( MILLIONS OF DOLLARS SHOULD BE CLAIMED AS DAMAGE ON THE CIVIL RIGHTS CLAIM)

If he had been a leftist without a case who had faked charges against conservatives, the media would be all over it to legitimize it, and leftist activists would harangue to the bitter end to have the case prosecuted.
So a Democrat politician hires an adviser with SEIU ties, who then hires SEIU thugs as enforcement for the Democrat pols “town hall” meeting and the hired thugs end up beating on people that disagree with the Democrat politician.
And we expect that District Attorney Bob McCulloch, who was one of the prosecutors who was a part of “Obama’s Truth Squad” and will rectify this?
This malignant lust for power and rule without dissent, enforced without mercy by strongarm tactics is not something that the elected politicians or partisan DA’s fix. It is the system THEY put in place.

Interesting thing about your Civil Rights Act idea is that, if he prevails at any point, the other side pays his attorney fees under the ‘private attorney general’ provision of the act. The more they fight, the greater their potential loss. It’s a hammer the ACLU has used for years.

Good point. My point was trying to make it illegal to attack someone because of their political affiliation...which I fear will become much more prevalent in the next few years.

You are absolutely right. He should be on this without any waiting for a crimimnal prosecution. He can subpoena any evidence they have.
