Fox News can confirm that Fort Hood suspect Army Major Nidal Hasan is awake and speaking to medical staff at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Hospital spokesperson Maria Gallegos says he's in critical but stable condition.
A U.S. Army spokesman says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the suspected Fort Hood gunman, is in critical but stable condition three days after he allegedly opened fire on the military base that killed 13 and left 29 wounded.
Hasan, 39, was shot during an exchange of gunfire during Thursday's attack. The military moved him on Friday to Brooke Medical Center, where he was taken off a ventilator on Saturday.

*** It really is tragic that he was a Muslim.****
No Totee - what is really, really, really sad - is THAT HE STILL IS A MUSLIM!!!!!!!!!!
Better if he WAS....you ignorant SL*T!!!!
“Who did he vote for in the last election?”
That’s an interesting question!
They need to get busy on him to find out who else was involved; I don’t think he acted alone. They should create a whole lot of discomfort for him right now.
... but they won’t.
Oh, so very EFFING tragic. Nina has obviously used up all the sympathy on the terrorist, with none left for the victims.
more importantly, can he be his own expert witness?
“I was talking with a correctional officer yesterday...Hasan would not survive in prison.”
All the more reason to put him in prison, in the general population.
Did he kill as many as this guy? And wasn’t that an accident?
As a nurse I can think of a few “difficulties” in patient care that might arise the poor hapless Hassan as he lies in his hospital bed.
Darn those blown veins when re-starting his IV. Dang, how did that tension get causing the pull to your foley catheter? Did I roll you over a little roughly when changing your linens...oops, sorry. Oh yes, it does pull to have tape ripped off your skin during those dressing changes, yep it does. Oh goodness, how did I spill that bottle of ice water down your crotch....oops. You want to sleep?...no, it’s time for vitals, noise in the room, wound checks, fluid checks...just when you’re starting to drift off.
Oops....sorry.
Not.
Yes, the ultimate irony is that a WOMAN took him down. All those women in US military fatigues that should be wearing burkhas - ha!!
Wake up asking where his virgins are?
I am sure they will. In the mean time I hope they are not addressing him with sir or as Major
“the suspected Fort Good gunman”, oh, you’re exactly right. Everytime I hear on the news that he’s the “suspected” or “alleged” gunman, it makes my blood boil!! The murdering islamic jihadist would be accurate.
Where’s Jack Bauer when you need him?
Paging Jack Bauer, paging Jack Bauer...
“so when does he appear on countdown or maddow??” They’ve probably already sent him flowers.
Or the “I was picked on!!!!” defense.
I think we met the last time I was in the hospital!
;<)
There have been several such incidents which were NOT “accidental”:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omeed_Aziz_Popal
Omeed Aziz Popal is alleged to have intentionally struck 18 pedestrians with his black Honda Pilot SUV on August 30, 2006, and faces a murder charge and 19 counts of attempted murder.[1][2] Popal was 29 at the time of the attack. Several major news organizations have described his attack in the San Francisco Bay Area as a “rampage”.[3]
...
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Popal “was terrorizing the neighborhoods near the Western Addition and Pacific Heights”,[8] and KTVU reported that a woman at the scene of the arrest heard Popal say “I’m a terrorist, I don’t care.” A second witness confirmed the first’s account.[9][10]
Popal’s rampage ended in front of the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, where the final two victims were struck.
However, within hours of Popal’s arrest, police asserted that there was no evidence of Popal’s intent to commit an act of terrorism.
Popal’s attorney, Majeed Samara, has described his client as “mentally ill”.[11] However, he provided no details. In contrast to his lawyer’s claims, one psychologist has said that “the mental disorder explanation is actually very weak,” and that it fails to account for this specific crime, which is exceptionally rare in the U.S.[12]
The media has noted the similarities between Popal’s case and that of Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, an American citizen who intentionally struck nine pedestrians with his SUV on March 3, 2006, and was charged with nine counts of attempted murder. Taheri-azar was 22 at the time of the attack.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohammed_Reza_Taheri-azar_SUV_attack
In March 2006, Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, an Iranian-born American citizen, confessed to intentionally hitting people with a sport utility vehicle on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to “avenge the deaths of Muslims worldwide” and to “punish” the United States government. While no one was killed in the attack, nine people were injured (none seriously).
Shortly after the attack, he turned himself in and was arrested. He pled guilty to nine counts of attempted first-degree murder, and in 2008 was sentenced to 33 years in prison.[2]
In one letter, Taheri-azar wrote, “I was aiming to follow in the footsteps of one of my role models, Mohamed Atta, one of the 9/11 hijackers, who obtained a doctorate degree.”[3]
Right now, the shooting is “known”, it’s a suspected hate crime and the media refuses to say THAT.
