Fox News can confirm that Fort Hood suspect Army Major Nidal Hasan is awake and speaking to medical staff at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
Hospital spokesperson Maria Gallegos says he's in critical but stable condition.
A U.S. Army spokesman says Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the suspected Fort Hood gunman, is in critical but stable condition three days after he allegedly opened fire on the military base that killed 13 and left 29 wounded.
Hasan, 39, was shot during an exchange of gunfire during Thursday's attack. The military moved him on Friday to Brooke Medical Center, where he was taken off a ventilator on Saturday.

I’ll be shocked if he makes it out of the hospital alive. There are enough careers in jeopardy, and the labored attempts by the Army to whitewash this don’t bode well for ever hearing from him.

No way. This one is going down. If the military doesn’t do it, the State of Texas will. We don’t allow this kind of crap in Texas. In Saudi Arabia they have their executions on Friday. In Texas, we have our executions on Wednesday. And, moreover, the creep DC sniper is going down tomorrow, so apparently even Maryland can do something right sometimes.

I believe he would, he has not officially been charge of a crime yet. I suspect he is still getting full pay and allowances.

NOBODY called him a camel jockey. I’d wager a large sum on that. If anything, nobody would talk to him at all once they discovered how disordered he is, and tried to avoid sending him patients. Isolated and shunned has at least a ring of truth to it. Harrassed does not make sense, Not in todays world. but then, he’s a pali. They lie when the truth would work better. They don’t know how NOT to lie.

I read that Sgt Todd was being treated for shock or PTSS. He did shoot at Hasan, too, though.
I imagine at some point we’ll find out how many shots hit the SOB...not enough, I guess. But at least they stopped him.
