Twelve people have been killed and 31 wounded in a shooting spree at a Texas military base by what officials believe was possibly carried out by an Army officer.
The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.
The shooter was killed and two other suspects, who are also soldiers, have been apprehended, Lt. Gen. Robert W. Cone said.
The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.
MSNBC: Suspect in custody is aged late thirties. Wearing military fatigues, armed with “military-style weapon” but there is no confirmation that he is in the military. Still confusion on how many shooters on the loose.
How can you be on the lookout for someone if you don't know what you're looking for?
I are confused.
“Drug deal? WTF??????”
That’s actually vaguely plausible. The biggest Mexican drug gang consists of former Mexican soldiers that were trained by the USA in counter-insurgency tactics. Well-trained, well armed.
That said, I suspect, with 2 or more, it’s Jihadi Joe taking to our Homefont.
Disenchanted soldiers ?
Robert Maginnis said maybe. So you go and shoot innocent people ?
WHAT ?
I’ve got news for him, when it involves this number of people, it is a terrorist attack. This is a message sending event. It wasn’t an event that sought to pay back one person or even a small group of people.
Nearly 30 victims, leaves no doubt this was intended to make a statement.
Thanks for the ping, snidely.
Why of course. Wouldn’t robbers choose a military base to stage a hold up.
As I said, McCaffrey.........no different that that drunk Cafferty.
Army spokesman Lt Col Nathan Banks at the Pentagon told the Associated Press news agency the shootings had begun at about 1330 (1930 GMT) on Thursday at a personnel and medical processing centre at Fort Hood.
He said two shooters had been involved.
The second incident took place at a theatre on the base, he said.
Shep is the biggest moron on Fox. He should have been canned years ago, after Katrina. His reporting from New Orleans was horrid...
It is MSNBC news for loooooonys.
It was Barbara Starr, that was the schmuck that looked all happy about it. In related news, Shepard Smith should seriously consider moving to CNN, his hatred for our military shows as well. When I heard him say that its a military base, everyone there carries guns, I wanted to blow chunks.
he inherited it.
Like you.......I can't grasp it.
“[Sheps]’s obviously never set foot on a military base.”
It would violate the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
Their news is reporting one shooter was killed. If true, GOOD! God help them get the rest, fortify base safety and end the madness. They just went to ABC News live coverage.
Rumor of 3rd suspect still on the loose .. sirens are blaring on base. Another rumor of one suspect still surrounded.
There is a description, however, and a local police officer would have it in case they made it off base. I would imagine the local schools are locked down.
There’s a description out there somewhere.

This live feed has chatter coming directly from the base itself. As up to the second as you can get.
News radio 1080 Dallas (KRLD) is updating with live info.

I clearly remember the news the day the London Tube/buses got bombed —not only were the “no terrorism” assurances coming fast and thick but also anchors speculated that these could be ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS.
I’m serious.
On separate trains and buses. With screaming and running and stuff.
KCEN reports one in custody, one cornered (fire exchanged with SWAT team) and one unaccounted for.
