Scozzafava Endorses Democrat After Dropping Out of N.Y. Congressional Race
Fox News ^ | 11/01/09

Republican Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent Sunday in the race for an upstate New York congressional seat, one day after Scozzafava dropped out of the contest.

Scozzafava dropped out after Conservative Party candidate Dough Hoffman experienced a late-in-the-game surge. But on Sunday, Scozzafava backed Democrat Bill Owens -- the announcement was made in a statement send out by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

"I am supporting Bill Owens for Congress and urge you to do the same," she said. "In Bill Owens, I see a sense of duty and integrity that will guide him beyond political partisanship. He will be an independent voice devoted to doing what is right for New York. Bill understands this district and its people, and when he represents us in Congress he will put our interests first."

DeDe has a voting record in Albany that proves that she's no different than a Democrat.

Tue that.

James T. Ellis, the state Republican Party's regional vice chairman for nine of the 11 counties in the 23rd District, organized the four meetings where the candidates made their case for the nomination. Mr. Ellis said Mr. Hoffman would "certainly" have known Ms. Scozzafava's positions on social and fiscal issues after the four meetings together.

"He heard as much as I heard," the vice chairman said.

There also were dozens of accounts in newspapers, on television and on the Internet detailing Ms. Scozzafava's opinion on issues on which the two rivals disagree, such as abortion rights and gay marriage.

Ah I love the smell of a the rotting corpse of a political movement. Here lies the RINO party, dead and naked in all its ugliness with the curtain pulled back; Arlen Specter, Arnold Schwarzenegger and the rest of the fifth column.

OK everyone, let’s say it all in unison just once and get on with serious business; “WE TOLD YOU SO!”

Big deal, your cow has been sent out to pasture.

Doug's cow, not mine.

Many of the same posters who are shrieking now were as placid as cattle before.

From Darrell Issa:
,br> -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE - Astonishingly, the Republican nominee in the special election has dropped out, and endorsed the Democrat! Just hours before she endorsed the Democrat, she received calls from Barack Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel. She also received calls from the Chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Senator Chuck Schumer. Was Scozzafava promised something in return for her endorsement of the Democrat? Time will tell.

Good info, hattend. The Repub's need to stay on top of the message game.

You really should take a look at http://www.tcotreport.com/ Scozzy was not the pick of a great majority of the GOP county chairmen. I suspect that at most one or two of them support this move of hers.

winning this race on Tuesday now becomes imperative, or every Blue Dog will have political cover to vote for Pelosi-care.

It is also vital that McConnell overwhelm Deeds in VA.

I so much appreciate when RINOs stab us in the back BEFORE we elect them as Republicans, instead of after.

I just responded to a post calling the violation of one's word a "technicality."

...Obama lures the Republican, “McHugh”, from the seat to be Army secretary, then the democrats load both candidate slots with two liberals so there won’t be any chance in hell to lose! If that’s not enough, the smartest History Professor in the Country, “Newt”, was willing to go along with the liberal Republican in order to keep the Republican Umbrella together no matter what the Republican candidate believed in, as long as there is an (R) next the candidates’ name>”

I'd be very interested in seeing the phone records of the local County Chairmen who selected Scozzafva, as it pertains to George Soros and the White House. In addition, I wanna see their bank accounts, and what monies have been transfered to them over the past 6 months.

Hey Newt,... Keep kissing Hannity’s @$$ because that’s the only gig you’ll ever get.

Makes one wonder about ol' Sean, too. He's got to be wondering what on earth he was thinking by so closely aligning himself with Newt.

I personally think that this will hurt his ratings, because he's featured Newt on both of his shows so often. Not that he won't eventually recover from it; he's a great guy, but this has got to sting.

I understand that, but when questioned about an endorsement at the time of her campaign suspension presser, she mentioned that she would teleconference with the “chairs” before making an endorsement.

It boils down to how many and which “chairs” she was speaking of and to.

I think many people want to know just who the hell is running this circus in NYS.

So she took all the RNCC money and when things went South she switched sides”

Most freepers(apart from the lunatic DU trolls) saw that coming from a long way off. Only difference is, we were sure she'd switch to the Dims, either straight after she got to the congress, or when she faced a tough primary reelection next year.

Ok, this is what we are up against.

Meghan McCain tweets. (Tweets from a twit)

all this crap about moderate “bloodletting” in the GOP makes me angry and even more empowered to speak out for our side of the party....

if you make this party smaller, there will be less members and less voters and we will continue losing elections, why is this so difficult

for the extreme side of the party to understand? I wish more moderates would get out there and take the heat, we are here and not leaving!

really crazy time in politics right now, especially w the Gop, cant believe some members of the GOP are so scared of me. I love it of course
