Okay, here we go. Can the Phillies repeat? Now that she is no longer the junior senator, do the Yankees break "The Hillary Curse"?

At the Seventh inning stretch, it’s still Phillies 2 and Yankees zero.

Utley’s two home runs to right are the only score so far this game in 6.5 innings.

Both pitchers have done a good job, the two pitches to Utley being the glaring exceptions.

I’m sure all of our troops would have been honored to hear her rendition.

Lee brings the first pitch in the bottom of the 7th, a ball.

‘75 and they were not going to the Little League WS, let alone the big leagues. CBS owned them then.

Actually, they finished in 2nd place in '75 (playing at Shea), and Steinbrenner was the owner by then (since '73) ... as far as CBS goes, they seem to screw up everything they touch, ehhhh? The Yankees in the 60's, Fender in the 60's and 70's, and their own CBS News even! /laughs

The second pitch is fouled off for a strike, 1/1.

FYI....tomorrow MLB Network shows game 2 of the 1969 World Series (Mets-Orioles) and game 2 of 2007 World Series (Red Sox-Rocies).

CC is over 100 pitches so we’ll see if he comes out for the 8th inning.

I fairly well hit ball goes down the line to Alex Rodriguez, who throws at the first batter at first.

Lee is still looking good.

Joe Buck misread or misstated-imagine that-the graphic Fox had up at the time. It was regarding the fact there was a WS the year Old Yankee Stadium was brand new, 1923(W) and then when it was newly remodeled, 1976(L) and now this year when new Yankee Stadium is brand new.

Good point. I’m thinking short leash, but he shows, unless his position comes up.

Lee handles a little bouncer to his left, and tags the runner out...

Two down in the bottom of the 7th, Phillies 2 zip.

I've never seen a sports team whose fan base was overwhelmingly one political persuasion or another (yes, there are plenty of Democrat Dallas Cowgirl fans too). We should always leave politics out of sports and vice versa (hear that Keith Olbermann?).

That being said, my baseball season ended in June, and this is the first World Series in my lifetime where I am NOT rooting for ANY team. I wish I had football as a consolation, but my men in blue have dropped the last two.

A squibler down the third base line, and a toss to first for the out.

At the end of seven...

Phillies 2

Yankees 0

Phils have a lot of underrated players: Utley, Victorino, Werth.

Yankee fans know nothing of the NL. They are about to be surprised.

It looks like it doesn’t it.

Like I said, they played solid ball against the Dodgers. It was embarrassing to watch them both perform side by side, in particular the offense.

At bat the Dodgers were swinging at everything. The had no concept of the zone at all. The were swinging from the heels every time they got three runs behind, and had no short game for much of the series.

I really enjoyed the Dodgers in those days.

When they swept Lops, Cey, Garvey and Baker out, I wrote them off.
