Okay, here we go. Can the Phillies repeat? Now that she is no longer the junior senator, do the Yankees break "The Hillary Curse"?

One out one on...
Daman at the plate.
Pops to Lee, who stands there like a deadpan statue to catch the ball with a glove that move little for several seconds before the ball came down in it.
Laughs around.
Two out...
Ball up middle facilitates unassisted force at second for the second baseman.
Three out...

As it was Matsui should have stayed put at first, so his bad decision not to stay put. Tough decision to make during a bang-bang play like that -- the ball looked like it was a short hop, which started the double play. Matsui couldn't tell that it had been caught or fielded and so broke for 2nd, thought he was out on DP and so didn't tag. Looked a bit bewildered just afterwards. He could have just as easily have gotten caught up in a rundown between first and second, or been doubled up on first if Cano had beaten the throw .....

Sorry, I missed your question.

Yes, although I think it would have been funner if the Dodgers had made it. Heh heh heh...
They sure didn’t deserve it the way the played though.

We’re at the top of seven, Phillies leading 2 zip.
Count is 3/2 on the first batter.

Nix that part ... Cano was already out, but Matsui didn't realize it, thinking it was a short hop DP ... still, a tough decision when you don't know if the fielder caught the ball on fly or 'trapped' it
To: DoughtyOne
Leadoff walk leaves one on first with nobody out.

Maybe some Yankee fans can clear this one up for me. I could have sworn I heard that the play by play guy on FOX say that one Yankee WOrld Series appearance happened when the old Yankee Stadium was being remodeled. I don’t think thats true. Yankee stadium was remodeled in 1974 and 1975 and the Yankeee WS appearance was in 1976.
To: DoughtyOne
Next batter smashed ball to third, nice clean double play executed.
Two outs... sniff sniff...

Another hit to Rodriguez at third, toss across the infield ends the inning.

Take me out with the crowd...

Lady now sings our second national anthem to honor our troops.
“God Bless America...”
I’m not a real big fan of this move to sing GBA at every sporting event, because I know what the left would love to do over my dead body.

I believe you are right. I was there in ‘75 and they were not going to the Little League WS, let alone the big leagues. CBS owned them then.

play by play guy on FOX say that one Yankee WOrld Series appearance happened when the old Yankee Stadium was being remodeled. The FOX guy is wrong. Yankees didn't get back to the WS until 1976, the Stadium's re-opening season

Very nice job.
Nice to have it simply done, with no flair and dancing girls and fireworks, etc!
