Just how effective has Sarah Palins intervention in the NY23 special election been? Douglas Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate that got Palins endorsement, raised $116,000 in a single day, according to a source within the campaign. The source told me to refer back to Chris Cillizzas coverage of the race at the Washington Post blog The Fix, which noted that Hoffman had raised $210,000 over the course of a week.
Stacy McCain confirmed this with another source in the campaign. He has a few updates as well on Democratic fundraising in the contest.
If nothing else, this confirms the power that Palin has with the conservative base. She can raise money hand over fist, even with some considerable negatives with other constituencies. If Hoffman winds up winning this election, Palin will become a very popular woman in the 2010 campaign, especially in Blue Dog Democrat districts where conservatives have grown appalled by the direction of a Democratic Congress. Even if he doesnt, this has been an impressive demonstration of influence and power.
Wnen WE, the citizens and voters of this nation insist on that course of action ourselves, in large numbers, we will inact change.
That is what is happening here with Sarah and others...and it is what MUST happen with each of us.
When we do, the right candidates and the right parties will rise to the top like cream rises to the top of fresh milk because we will have insisted and forced it to be so.
The FR sanctioned:
RESTORE THE CONSTITUTION EFFORT
which is an FR Alliance web site, is about precisely that. Please join us, and a lot of other FREEPERS there, as we work together and identify and support candidates dedicated to doing rpecisely that at all levels.
THAT is the way it’s done, RINO GOP!
Endorse, Sarah, endorse!!! :-)
LOL!
The liberals aren’t going to know what hit them, but WE do—Sarah Palin ROCKS!
I sent money this morning.

Ditto.
The Democrats are not the only enemies. The entrenched non-ideological political elite are only interested in power rather than principle and will attempt to crush anyone who does not toe the line.
Kudos to Sarah Palin and Rick Santorum
My gosh, Sarah Palin gets more beautiful in every picture.
God has a plan for this talented woman.
I just dropped $50 on him. We need to support conservatives since the Republican party won’t.
I sacrificed drinks tonight; Doug got those funds 45 minutes ago.
Her endorsement should be heavily sought by every GOP candidate next year who has half a brain.
My wife and I gave last night, foregoing a meal.
I just put $50 on him, but not one red cent to the GOP till they get rid of Snowe, Collins and few more RINOs.
I wonder if the GOP leadership is getting a clue that we don’t want DemocratLite, we want fiscal conservatives.
Bravo to you sir!
I got a survey today from John Thune and since there was no place for comments on it, I filled it all out and at the bottom it asked me to mark which issue is MOST important to me, so I marked ‘other’ and put RINO’s!!!
and then I didn’t send them a dime :|
I went to his website and tried to make a modest donation but after filling in everything and selecting submit I got an error say “Service Unavailable”.
Hopefully this is because his website is being overpowered by those of us wishing to help him put the GOP on notice as to who’s in charge! Hope it’s not a DOS or some other bad thing!
Let’s hope that seeing the conservatives riled up and speaking out against business as usual at the GOP will help them to catch on before 2010.
I love the fact this endorsement by Sarah sets up sort of a direct challenge to Newt in that he’s gone on record advocating staying with the GOP approved candidate.
If they’re smart the GOP bigwigs will realize then need us more than we need them!
What I really don’t get is how the GOP has forgotten the lessons of 1996, the Contract and all that.
We have been given a real gift with this special election, a great chance to make a statement to the GOP.
