Just how effective has Sarah Palins intervention in the NY23 special election been? Douglas Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate that got Palins endorsement, raised $116,000 in a single day, according to a source within the campaign. The source told me to refer back to Chris Cillizzas coverage of the race at the Washington Post blog The Fix, which noted that Hoffman had raised $210,000 over the course of a week.
Stacy McCain confirmed this with another source in the campaign. He has a few updates as well on Democratic fundraising in the contest.
If nothing else, this confirms the power that Palin has with the conservative base. She can raise money hand over fist, even with some considerable negatives with other constituencies. If Hoffman winds up winning this election, Palin will become a very popular woman in the 2010 campaign, especially in Blue Dog Democrat districts where conservatives have grown appalled by the direction of a Democratic Congress. Even if he doesnt, this has been an impressive demonstration of influence and power.
“I just dropped $50 on him. We need to support conservatives since the Republican party wont”
Excellent. Next week I will send him another check for the final push.
...and those hittin’ on all eight too!
Same thing happened to me. Just mail a real check.
Yep, I got one of those “you are the key Republican representative in your district for this survey bla bla bla ...” So I scribbled Doug Hoffman’s name accross the face of it in marker and that’s how I’m sending it in. They don’t need any more important information than that at the moment.
BTW, I have voted Republican, but I am now with the Constitution party.
Her endorsement should be heavily sought by every conservative candidate of what ever party.
The MSM is going to uh .. produce ... a brick if this candidate wins. Perfect ... they will go into full attack mode just as Sarah's book is released and, just as the WH has driven millions to Fox, they will drive millions to buy the book and the public will get to see Sarah without the vicious filtering of the MSM
Latest tweet from Doug:
“Steve Forbes has endorsed our campign today. He is a person who knows sound economic policy. We should be honored....”
WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Who is "they"?
A man behind a curtain? No.
The RNC? No
The media? Yes.
Ya know, this RNC pushed McCain thingy is getting very old and it doesn't help us to lack such discernment.
Someone on his staff needs to learn to spell campaign. The netroots will go crazy.
Helping Hoffman win strengthens Palin for 2012.

Very good point SolidWood.
“My gosh, Sarah Palin gets more beautiful in every picture.”
You see that too, do ya.. Not just me, then..
For you Madame President...
I donated 100.00. I hope everyone that can will donate a something. Even if it’s only 5.00. It adds up.
not one red cent to the GOP till they get rid of Snowe, Collins and few more RINOs.
______________
Oh I agree!! All they get from me are nasty letters telling them as long as they support RINOs and liberals calling themselves conservatives, I will send my money to real conservative candidates.
You don’t think the RNC backed RINOs a majority of the time over true conservatvies in the last 5 years? Look at most of the primaries and see who got the most funding and endorsements (of other RINOs). You can’t blame the MSM for what his party has become. It’s their own doing that they’ve swung left.
SolidWood; Palin. heh-heh, heh! (snark!)
I do not know if he will but I think the results will show that leftwing Republicans are losers.
