Obama Threatens News Networks: Don't Follow Fox News....Or Else
Sunday, October 18, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/18/2009 9:24:28 AM PDT by kristinn

Mafioso, Goon Squad, Communist, Nazi, Jihadi, Democrat politics as usual--whatever you want to call the thuggish tactics of the Obama administration, the very public threats they are making to the news media to not follow the lead of Fox News in questioning Obama's policies and personnel is a direct threat to the freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment.

This morning on the Sunday talk shows, speaking on behalf of President Barack Obama, senior Obama advisers David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel carried on the war initiated by White House communictions director Anita Dunn last week on CNN.

Axelrod appeared on ABC News' This Week, telling George Stephanopoulos:

"A lot of their news programming, it's really not news, it's pushing a point of view. And the bigger thing is that other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way, and we’re not going to treat them that way."

Chief of Staff Emanuel told John King on CNN's State of the Union that the president himself does not view Fox as a legitimate news network:

...The way the President looks at it, we look at it, it's not a news organization so much as it has a perspective. And that's a different take. And more importantly, is not have the CNNs and the others in the world basically be led and following Fox, as if that, what they’re trying to do is a legitimate news organization..."

Emanuel then went on to deny that the White House is focused on Fox to the detriment of other issues facing Obama:

"I mean the concentration of the White House isn’t about what Fox is doing. It’s a concentration about what does it take to make sure the economy’s moving, creating jobs, helping the economy grow, making sure that we responsibly withdraw from Iraq, making sure the decisions we make on Afghanistan..."

But to accomplish his goals, Obama and his Chicago goons have decided they need to clear the field, in this case Fox News, like they have done throughout their ascendency to power.

Once again, Obama froze out Fox News' Sunday program today with Emanuel appearing on CBS' Face the Nation and CNN, Axelrod on ABC and close aide Valerie Jarrett fielding softballs from David Gregory on NBC's Meet the Press. Former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe appeared on Fox, saying he was briefed by the White House beforehand.

The message is clear: Obey Obama or lose access, get attacked and be culled from the herd. Unspoken, but well understood, is that the Obama administration has the regulatory and investigatory power to destroy those in the news media who get in their way.

They simply don’t know what else to do. Sure, clinton gave them almost daily cocktail parties on the White House lawn, with choice ord’oeuvres and Hollywood starlets. Obama gives them nothing. He simply snaps his fingers when he wants them, and they come running.

But what else are they to do? Admit that they were wrong? Admit that Communists aren’t all that nice after all? Admit that Bush and Cheney were right?

Never. Not till the Muslim nukes start going off in our cities and their colleagues are hauled off to the re-education camps. And maybe not even then.

Liberalism is a religion. They’ve been brainwashed since kindergarten. So admitting they were wrong is a very big deal.

Why is Obama doing this to them? Surely it can’t be that he is a Communist, Muslim, American-hating, power-drunk, malignant narcissist who loves no one but himself? Surely these odd behavioral quirks will straighten out sometime soon.

I really don’t now how any of them can stand Gibbs.

But Helen Thomas is the Senior Correspondent. She is Number One, and don’t you forget it!

“You can take the thugs out of the neighborhood, but you can’t take the neighborhood out of the thugs.”

I saw this quote on another thread about the UConn football player who was killed. Thought it applied here as well.

Kristinn, I have a serious question.

Since Jan 2009, I remember them coordinating a concentrated attack on Rush Limbaugh.

It got them nowhere. Rush is still on, and as opinionated as ever.

So here's a room full of grown men who get together at the White House, see how well that worked against Rush, and decide: "Hey! I know! Let's change targets! THEN IT WILL WORK!!!".......

...... are these guys rank amateurs???

The other shoe in all of this is the apparently unanimous opinion in the Obama administration—including, most alarmingly, his USSC appointee Sotomayor—that “corporations don’t have First Amendment rights.”.

This is a terrifying point of view because if it becomes accepted legal precedent you know very well that the federal government will find a way to define all speech it doesn’t like as “corporate,” and the First Amendment will be effectively abrogated.

>>Now I don’t want to loose my country to anyone<<

Little tip: “loose” rhymes with “goose” as in “loose as a goose” or “the goose is loose” and is also spelled with the same ending. Remember this and if you can spell “goose” you’ll be able to spell “loose” when you need it.

The other one is “lose.”

You have precisely described the entire left in this country. Now that we can clearly see what undoes them and allows most of the rest of the nation see what they are it has to be kept up. Keep pushing, keep laughing at them and pointing out their flaws. Those who rarely payattention see this and this will be the Democrats undoing for the next 50 years!

Excellent post Kristinn. This is very serious stuff. I think everyone concerned about it (and all conservatives should be!) must read Diana West's piece in the Washington Examiner First They Came for Rush

I posted the following to that thread after reading her comment:

Conservatism in our time has been publicly defined as extremism. Which means, for conservatives, it's time for some intensive historical revisionism of our own.

Diana West has analyzed the problem correctly. I've been watching this trend for years and under Obama’s emerging totalitarian rule it's reached critical mass. There is a clearly orchestrated government/media campaign to stifle conservative speech. The latest evidence is right here on FR today. Axelrod claims Fox News “isn’t really news,” and the noxious “journalist” Jacob Weisberg claims in Newseek that “Fox News isn’t just bad. It’s Un-American.” This was preceded by the demonization of the Tea Party movement and of course the unprecedented attacks on Fox.

Budding dictatorships can’t stand a lot of honest scrutiny. People like Limbaugh and Beck are real burs under the Progressive saddle. Since American voters were gulled into turning over all the controls and powers of government to these Brownshirts and bullies, this is just the public relations/propaganda campaign intended to convince the public that the content of the airwaves needs to be controlled, meaning free conservative speech will be repressed.

Call me nuts but I’m convinced the timing of the economic crash just before the elections was no accident. And I’m convinced that this bunch of thugs will use any and all means at their disposal to not only silence opposing speech but to do their best to make sure that all future elections are somehow rigged in their favor.

If FNC wants to be a contributing participant in our national conversation then they might want to keep in mind that a little decorum goes a long way.

As opposed to MSNBC? Gimme a break.

It's no different in how they legislate. It never works and almost always has the opposite effect of what they intend. These people are complete imbeciles and the only reason they survive is because there are enough other lazy, selfish, ignorant, embiciles who support them!

Excellent piece. Thanks for the link.

I subject myself to all the Sunday shows, and the only one that is remotely hard hitting is Fox. MTP is a joke, and the panel portion was unwatchable. ABC’s is hosted by a Clinton lackey and the panel was a joke as well.
