Obama Threatens News Networks: Don't Follow Fox News....Or Else
Sunday, October 18, 2009 | Kristinn

Posted on 10/18/2009 9:24:28 AM PDT by kristinn

Mafioso, Goon Squad, Communist, Nazi, Jihadi, Democrat politics as usual--whatever you want to call the thuggish tactics of the Obama administration, the very public threats they are making to the news media to not follow the lead of Fox News in questioning Obama's policies and personnel is a direct threat to the freedoms guaranteed in the First Amendment.

This morning on the Sunday talk shows, speaking on behalf of President Barack Obama, senior Obama advisers David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel carried on the war initiated by White House communictions director Anita Dunn last week on CNN.

Axelrod appeared on ABC News' This Week, telling George Stephanopoulos:

"A lot of their news programming, it's really not news, it's pushing a point of view. And the bigger thing is that other news organizations like yours ought not to treat them that way, and we’re not going to treat them that way."

Chief of Staff Emanuel told John King on CNN's State of the Union that the president himself does not view Fox as a legitimate news network:

...The way the President looks at it, we look at it, it's not a news organization so much as it has a perspective. And that's a different take. And more importantly, is not have the CNNs and the others in the world basically be led and following Fox, as if that, what they’re trying to do is a legitimate news organization..."

Emanuel then went on to deny that the White House is focused on Fox to the detriment of other issues facing Obama:

"I mean the concentration of the White House isn’t about what Fox is doing. It’s a concentration about what does it take to make sure the economy’s moving, creating jobs, helping the economy grow, making sure that we responsibly withdraw from Iraq, making sure the decisions we make on Afghanistan..."

But to accomplish his goals, Obama and his Chicago goons have decided they need to clear the field, in this case Fox News, like they have done throughout their ascendency to power.

Once again, Obama froze out Fox News' Sunday program today with Emanuel appearing on CBS' Face the Nation and CNN, Axelrod on ABC and close aide Valerie Jarrett fielding softballs from David Gregory on NBC's Meet the Press. Former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe appeared on Fox, saying he was briefed by the White House beforehand.

The message is clear: Obey Obama or lose access, get attacked and be culled from the herd. Unspoken, but well understood, is that the Obama administration has the regulatory and investigatory power to destroy those in the news media who get in their way.

The journalism profession is not what it used to be.

When Mario Cuomo dared to say that news media should not use the word "Mafia," they all turned around and started using it, in defiance. They had been saying "organized crime" but weren't going to let government call the shots.

Times have changed. I believe that was back in the seventies.

I've always wondered about that...if it was intentional.

Not me. McCain (predictably) did his 'reach across the aisle bipartisanship' thing in the midst of the campaign, and got fried for it.

More than anything else, I think it cost him the election because instead of playing hardball and pointing out that he had co-sponsored legislation to regulate/oversee the derrivatives market (which might have prevented the mega meltdown that made the stimulus package "necessary"), and laying the whole wad at the feed of the Democrats and the CRA as enhanced, he did his typical mealy-mouthed 'why can't we all just get along' bit.

No one who was not already paying attention to the facts was going to change a vote for that, Schumer had given the impression we needed some sort of change in the system, and the appearance of an economy going down in flames prompted the ill informed to vote for "Hope and Change", as well as becoming a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Accident, schmaccident. It was a carefully timed ploy to defeat the Republicans, and it worked.

There is no old girlfriend. That story was invented to distract from the real story. He was gay. He never had one girlfriend, not one photo with a girl, not ONE, until michelle the beard.

I agree Candor.. You made a great point. I don’t really want them on Fox news. Why give them yet another forum for their talking points.

I think we err when we see their takeover as an idealogical battle. That is a sidebar issue, really, although its effects are the same. This is larceny, plain and simple, the shift in governmental behaviour merely facillitates the looting.

Just as a thief will gladly pry open an antique desk, splintering the wood to get at the valuables inside, these thieves are ripping open the very fabric of our nation to loot it.

They have looted the banks, the real estate market, the auto makers, and are going after the medical care system and insurance companies next.

All the largest stores of wealth not in private hoards are either gone or are being pillaged, or the groundwork is being laid to loot them--with the blessings of the ill informed electorate and the parasite classes.

With the implementation of totalitarian measures, they will come after private wealth next, and that won't be pretty.

TERM LIMITS would have avoided it. 8 years max. That was a huge mistake.

I know what you mean potlatch and I noticed it too. We need to think about the words we use. They do show up in searches. However, anyone that searches for p* rn and finds FR, will be very disappointed. :P

Call me nuts but I’m convinced the timing of the economic crash just before the elections was no accident.
_____________
You’re not nuts. It wasn’t an accident. They did it when McCain pulled up in the polls. Crashed it, obama went up and the rest is history.

God help us.

Freepers, pray and pray and pray some more. We must seek The LORD God Almighty! We need His direction and power. Remember David and Goliath. Before we stand up for our Country, we must first stand up for The LORD. We must be ready to follow His direction and be open for the unexpected.

Thank you mojitojoe, nice to have someone agree, lol. I've been here a long time and have seen a lot of change - recently!

Obama has brought out hate and nastiness in many.

Blah, blah, blah. You keep talking Rahm, but you're not really saying anything.

I'm loving that some folks are now comparing Obama to Nixon. ;o)

Thanks for this update, Kristinn. I’ve been away for a while, and this helped me catch up a bit...

FOX is definitely right over the target in light of the flak they are receiving from this administration. I hope the folks at FOX are girding their loins for what I’m sure will only get worse from here on out.

As far as those wondering what the “or else” is... I’ve got three words, “The Fairness Doctrine”. Although, Obama may not want to put that on the table given the problems he’s already having pushing his agenda. Combine trying to push the fairness doctrine with his wanting to create some kind of WORLDWIDE censorship/politically correct speech laws I think he’d be biting off WAY more than he can chew. The fight for the First Amendment in regards to Freedom of Speech is something I think most Democrats (at least the average Dem voter) would side with us on — even if they hate the fact that they’d have to...
