NFLPA to Rush: Get Lost

Well a new sport has emerged, call the "playing the race card".

Rush Limbaugh’s bid to buy the St Louis Rams has drawn fire from the NFL Players Association and actually I am not sure why. NFL Players executive director DeMaurice Smith (from ESPN):

In an e-mail to the union’s executive committee on Saturday specifically addressing Limbaugh’s bid, Smith said, “I’ve spoken to the Commissioner [Roger Goodell] and I understand that this ownership consideration is in the early stages. But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends. Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred.”

The ironic thing is, most NFL fans are white, conservative blue-collar types. If these fans didn't exist, who would be out there tailgating and attending the games?

I think the NFL is still pissed at Limbaugh over his Donovan McNabb comments, which turned out to be true.

Yes, that makes all kinds of sense.
No reason to let a man come aboard that has HIS OWN money and likes the sport.
They would rather end up with a clown like Washington has, an egotestical[sic] runt with a Napoleon complex that enjoys pushing the ‘big guys’ around....

Also they are probably afraid that Rush will ‘force’ his work ethic on them and if he tries to run it like a business (like G Steinbrenner) they will rebel because he will expect a days work for a days pay....

True how? The "desirous of a black QB to succeed"? Absolutely. But McNabb kicked ass on Sunday in his first game after breaking a rib. when healthy the guy is exceptional. Unfortunately, it won't last the season. It never does.

If Rush really didn’t expect this he hasn’t learned a thing

He was stupid to think his remarks on ESPN wouldn’t cause the problems it did ( And I am not talking about the hyprocrisy that exist in the sports media —we all know it does and so should have he ) But he thinks since he is Rush Limbaugh that it wouldn’t happen

The same thing with this new deal

I posted last week on several threads he didn’t have a chance in hell of getting his part ownership approved

I guess he is still under the delusion he can convert the hard left

No one seemed to have a problem when J Lo invested in an NFL team, her actual racist comments over the years, those were no detriment. Opinion from Rush that has been characterized as racism, no, this we cannot abide. Okay.

To be fair, Rush was wrong about McNabb. I understood his point at the time ...

When Isaiah Thomas made similar comments about Larry Bird back in 1987, it did not cost him his job, he was allowed to go on and win championships with the Pistons, continue to a head coaching position with the Knicks. One more demonstration about how racism only goes one way with these people.

I think that Rush was making more of a point that the Liberal Media was projecting super stardom on McNabb because of his color. Although I think that McNabb is one of the better qbs, until he wins the big one, he is not the same caliber as Rothlesberger, Manning(s) or Brady. Neither is Matt Ryan, Drew Brees, Tony Romo until they win the big one.

The ironic thing is, most NFL fans are white ...

And apparently, most NFL franchise owners are of a conservative bent ... these players, the ones who are carping loudest, don't seem to have a problem accepting a check from them, nor do I see anyone refusing to play a game with/against the NFL players whom I saw attending the Republican National Convention last year. Hmm ...

but McNabb, when healthy, is one heck of a QB. Plenty of white QBs have failed to win the big game, or were caried by their D.

So you think Rush does not know that a white QB can fail to win, or be carried by their D????

LOL, good grief the leftwing propaganda never lets go, even on FR it remains.

In my opinion, McNabb is a better salesman of soup and stuff than he is a quarterback for the Eagles. For the NFLPA to complain is really funny as those big babies only want the cash, and want the owners to pay them more and more. In my opinion, leave Limbaugh alone and let it fly, and may the best man win.

This could get fun!! If I were Rush, I’d increase the offer and try to set the deal up in such a way that he CAN’T be turned down. The Donovan McNabb kerfuffle is much ado about nothing and it is the racists in the NFLPA that are driving the debate.

I say, PROVE IT, players!!! Limbaugh could bring some new energy and excitement into the game and especially, THIS rather average team!!

Tony Romo until they win the big one.

Yesterday, a black commentator said Romo was overrated -- is that racist? Or is that allowed opinion because the commentator is a former player? What are his politics, I wonder, do they come into play here?

I’ve discussed this with counsel and will be suing the Buffalo Bills for cruel and unusual punishment of a fan following yesterday’s performance. Minimally false advertising that a ‘professional’ football team would be playing.

Can't be racist if it's the truth.

Well considering that Romo is half-Mexican, I could see the La Raza folks getting upset.
