NEW YORK — Sarah Palin has finished her memoir just four months after the book deal was announced. Her publisher says the release date has been moved up from the spring to Nov. 17.

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham says the former Alaska governor invested herself deeply and passionately in the project. He says the book contains fascinating detail.

The 400-page book is the first for Palin, who has been an object of fascination since Republican Sen. John McCain chose her as his running mate during his 2008 presidential bid. The book will be called "Going Rogue: An American Life."

A huge first printing of 1.5 million copies has been commissioned by Harper,...

Yes, I liked “playfully mischievous’; scamp”—though I’m not sure how presidential that is.

The only question is whether I’ll try to buy it the first day it comes out or whether I’ll wait to see if she’s going to do a book signing in my area.

Both are good options. Maybe I’ll say “all of the above” and get 2 books.

1.5 million copies won’t be nearly enough.

I might not have bought it, but the title and the fact that I want it at the top of the bestseller list means I will buy it as soon as it comes out. I often find bestsellers at Sam’s Club pretty cheap. I will head to Barnes and Noble if it’s not there.

That would only cover those who attended the 9/12 march on DC!

I’m definitely getting an extra copy for my dad to read and I’ll share my copy with friends and family after I’ve finished it.

And if I get an autographed copy it’s going on the shelf next to the signed George Foreman book and Emeril book. I had an autographed Colin Powell book but I threw it in the trash.

rather than personal story

perhaps, by getting her personal story out there ahead of time - without all the twists others would write - she'll end run the spinners.

Plenty of time for policy. I trust her for knowing what and when.

Plus, it's a powerful plus for people to know more about her as a person, and feel more connected.

I’d wager that this book was rushed because she’s working on a second book for spring publication that will lay out her vision for America. She’ll want her plan for common sense conservatism in print, again working around the media.

Oh, believe me, I trust her political instincts more than mine.

And I bet she’s got her policy-philosophy treatise more than half done too.

Then the book tours, hopefully my dream of meeting her will finally come true ...

Somehow I can't envision meeting Sarah Palin at the local Borders. But you never know. Could happen. I'd be in line for sure. And it would be a long line.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe the title refers to the campaign where someone in the McCain camp and/or MSM (same difference with respect to SP) said that SP was going rogue when she was attacking 0bama.

No, “scamp” is not very presidential. But “rebel” works, especially considering John O’Sullivan applied that label to Maggie Thatcher in “Rebel With A Cause: Margaret Thatcher, revolutionary.”

http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Protected/Articles/000/000/016/679titbv.asp

Reagan was a rebel also, as evidenced by the term “The Reagan Revolution” applied to both his two terms in the White House and his policies which led to a period of great economic growth.
