Should the National Endowment for the Arts encourage artists to create art on issues being vehemently debated nationally?

That is the question that I set out to discuss a little over three weeks ago when I wrote an article on Big Hollywood entitled The National Endowment for the Art of Persuasion?”

The question still requires debate but the facts do not. The NEA and the White House did encourage a handpicked, pro-Obama arts group to address politically controversial issues under contentious national debate. That fact is irrefutable.

I just finished watching one of those Cities of the Underworld on Discovery Channel. It was about Moscow and the Soviets and Stalin. His destroying the Church in Moscow to build his empire building. How the Russians demanded the Church be rebuilt after the fall of the Soviet Union. How people and money came in from all over the country to rebuild it. How Stalin worked to destroy religion in the Soviet Union. JUST LIKE DIMOCRATS AND LIBERALS ARE DOING HERE IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW TODAY!!! The guy talked about the fall of the SOCIALIST UTOPIA that Stalin wanted. How the people wanted religion back. Funny ain't it. Russians demanding religion and here in this country people want to destroy it as fast as they can. DIMOCRATS want to destroy religion. I am amazed how blacks, who are a large religious group, run to dimocrats for the free hand outs, support dimocrats and abortion, yet claim to be religious. You simply cannot believe in Christ and be religious and support abortion. Those two just do not go together, like oil and water.

The NEA’s mission is to support excellence in the arts, bringing the arts to all Americans, and providing leadership in arts education. Its slogan is “A great country deserves great art.” The NEA is NOT supposed to be used as a propaganda vehicle by the executive branch.

There were reports, but not full transcripts or audio. Think about the ACORN videos. If you had just had a report about ACORN making illegal loans it would have been ignored, just like the other reports. But if he has the full audio, that makes it water cooler talk.

Coming on the heels of the ACORN stuff this is going to keep Obama off message. That is the key. He got a big bump off of his health care speech, but that has started to drop fast after the ACORN story started to get traction. His Sunday morning blitz didn't go as well has he might have hoped, with the whole what the definition of Tax is. Now he wants to go on Letterman, but all the junkies will be talking about is this.

If we can buy time until October 15th they can't use reconciliation to get Cap & Tax or Obamacare past the Senate. Then we have a chance to stop them cold in an election year.

I would think. Wouldn't the "right" way be for the DNC to find and commission individual artists with political dollars? Otherwise, the White House is using publicly funded arts foundations, which are supposedly for the overall public benefit, to push a partisan viewpoint. This is very reminiscent of the way they did things in the USSR and Mao's China. Even the Shepard Fairey Obama-worship art is copied from that style!

My democrat dad always says “they are all crooks” yet he is perfectly fine with any criminal activity of Democrat politicians. I’m thinking of asking him “When did you ever see the Department of Defense used by a Republican president to start doing campaign commercials and promotions to a Republican president? But some have claimed that the invite and passages, pulled from the conference call that inspired the article, were taken out of context. Context is what I intend to establish here.

Looks like he is releasing the full tapes so no one can complain things were out of context. He used a similar tactic with ACORN. Release a small part, let people claim it was an isolated incident, then come back with more.
