Please post your updates from D.C. and from news reports here as well as your photos of the day.
Our Walter Reed salute to the troops last night was very well attended. Upwards of 800 people were there over the three-plus hours of the demonstration.
Photos and video taken by This Ain'tHell taken in daylight before the bulk of the crowd showed can be viewed here.

I don’t know about shutting down the streets because there were too many, but obviously the streets were shut down for the march. What I can tell you is that we got there about 10:20 and they were already marching. They weren’t suppost to start until around 11:30. So, we squeezed our way in the middle—and I do mean squeezed. We were guessing they just went ahead and started marching because there were too many people at the “starting point” and they have over-flowed into the streets. If they had waiting to start the march at 11:30, it wouldn’t have been over until well past the 1:00 time we were suppose to end up at the Capitol where other speakers were scheduled to speak. I’ve never seen anything like it! We couldn’t even get cell phone signals a lot of the time.

I have a photo of the sign with dogs humping. I’ll post it Sunday night.

AP was reporting in the PAST TENSE -- thousands gathered, marched --- at around 12:30 and they were wrong then. WAPO & WSJ also came out with reports in the PAST TENSE????

And they served valiantly in Iraq. On of our best allies as they understand what oppression can be.
I am sad that Obama screwed them on the NMD deal.

Freepers are too much. I'm laughing I'm crying today...such emotions coming on the heels of 9-11 8th anniv. I feel the same way. Yesterday was very difficult and sad.
Today, such victory and patriotism makes me tear up too.
At the risk of sounding corny, it reminds me of a line from Steel Magnolias. "Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion."

I just don't see cams that show down the Mall itself. These are traffic cams.

Saw a great sign at the march. Had a picture of George Washington in full regalia and the caption was:
George Washington Addresses Today’s Congress:
“WTF?”
I laughed for a couple of minutes on that one!
