Why did you choose that example? I find your comment to be a bigoted, hateful stereotype of Italians. Hey, YOU'RE the one assuming that the hit man for the Mafia was Italian. I said nothing about his nationality.
What's that matter with you? Don't you think that a hit man for the Mafia can't be something other than Italian?
Do you have something against Italians that you automatically think that a hit man has to be Italian? That's some nasty stereotype. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.

For example, you may understand that such a thing as sarcasm exists, but you also know that you never recognize it as such. Therefore, you know that you don’t know sarcasm.

If someone says theyre a Christian, I believe it without demanding paperwork in triplicate. Then why harp on whether any particular member of a denomination is a Christian?
BTW, no you don't, because you keep denying the Christianity of a number of people here who disagree with you who say they are Christians .
Why is it acceptable to you to do the very thing that you condemn in others?
On what basis and by whose authority do you get to label others as not Christians, but cultists?

I’m don’t. I accept their Christianity. You do not. I post it to highlight your (pl) hypocrisy. And it scares the pants off you (oh, no—not that comment again!).

A Christian is a follower of Christ, not or a group, a denomination, a person, a whatever.
That’s what the word means.
I can accept that a member of a denomination can be a member in good standing in that denomination, but what’s really strange is that I haven’t seen anywhere in Scripture where Jesus said that members of certain denominations are followers of His, or that to be a follower of Him, you have to be a member of a certain denomination.

But if it makes you feel good to think that way, by all means, go for it.

Im a Christian, as are Catholics, Episcopalians, Lutherans, Baptists, etc. If belonging to a denomination is what makes one Christian, then it's safe to conclude that you think that any one who is NOT a member of one of those denominations is NOT a Christian.
Therefore, by your criteria, someone who is not a member of one of those denominations is not a Christian.
On what basis and by whose authority do you have the right to decide who is and who is not a Christian?
