President Obama to Health Care Reform Opponents: Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness

In a conference call with liberal and progressive religious leaders Wednesday afternoon, President Obama railed against those who were “bearing false witness” in the debate over health care reform.

“I know there's been a lot of misinformation in this debate, and there are some folks out there who are, frankly, bearing false witness, but I want everyone to know what health insurance reform is all about,” the president said.

“Thou shalt not bear false witness against your neighbor,” is, of course, one of the Ten Commandments. (It’s the 9th Commandment in all religions except for the Catholic and Lutheran traditions, in which it’s the 8th.)

Mr. Obama pointed the finger at unnamed sources for the “distortion(s)” “fabrications” and “ludicrous ideas” in the debate over health care reform and rebutted specific “divisive and deceptive attacks.”

The president said the bill would not provide health insurance for illegal immigrants, or as he called them, “illegal aliens.” “That's not true. There's a specific provision in the bill that does not provide health insurance for those individuals.”

“You've heard that this is a government takeover of health care,” the president said. “That's not true. You've heard that this is all going to…mean government funding of abortion. Not true.”

Mr. Obama said these claims were “fabrications that have been put out there in order to discourage people from meeting what I consider to be a core ethical and moral obligation, and that is that we look out for one another, that I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper, and in the wealthiest nation on Earth right now, we are neglecting to live up to that call.”

Mr. Obama called on the religious leaders to help him share the good word about health care reform and set the record straight.

“I need you to knock on doors, talk to your neighbors. I need you to spread the facts and speak the truth,” he said.

God's Word is to save souls - not to be used as a tool to promote whatever flim-flam today's serpent tongue con-man is pushing. Certainly not to exult government as 'god', and to delegate our responsibilities to help others to some faceless entity in Washington DC.

Mr. Obama is not going to reach the 'bible-clingers' by pulling out random verses from God's Word and applying them to his godless programs. Satan knew Scripture also. He tried it out in the Wilderness. It didn't wash.

The Saviour's sheep don't fall for this nonsense...They follow the Master's voice - not this imposter...

An interesting comment from Rabbi Josh Yuter who was one of 1,000 Rabbis listening in on a conference call with President Obama on the hot button issue of heath care reform.
Obama is really either advocating government control or doesn’t understand how insurance works. “Obama’s approach to insurance is fundamentally flawed - This requires some explanation. One of Obama’s positions, stated repeatedly, is that he wants a system where people are not discriminated against for having pre-existing conditions. If he’s truly advocating a marketplace for insurance, this is simply an untenable position. The point of insurance is risk management where one pays a certain amount of money to avoid incurring a financial disaster in the future. Insurance companies, responsible for paying out policies, profit through the pooling of risk i.e the individuals with limited risk pay premiums to cover those with higher risks of the company having to pay. If there is no discrimination for pre-existing conditions, the principle of calculating appropriate risks is eliminated since every participant would be treated as an equal. Worse, if there is no disadvantage to pre-existing conditions, then there is no incentive for the individual to purchase insurance until after the health problem materializes. At that point there is no risk from the purchaser because he knows he needs treatment, but the insurer is forced to burden the entirety of the costs. Based on Obama’s position on pre-existing conditions, I’m forced to conclude that either he really is advocated a government controlled health care (or at least mandating individuals purchasing health care), or he simply doesn’t understand how insurance works.”

And the 24/7-repeated lie by Obama, 'that if you like your health insurance, you can keep it' as noted by almost everyone...this is a lie that no one seems to call him on in the MSM:

H.R. 3200 may, in fact, accomplish Obama’s longstanding goal of a single payer system. At Section 102(A) “Limitation on New Enrollment”, it prohibits any health insurer, other than the “public option” insurer, from adding any new people after the bill’s effective date.

So if an insurance policy gets revised, no matter how slightly, no one could join it. Policies are currently often revised or amended depending on what maintains financial feasibility. So if the policies are all forced to be changed due to the new imposed requirements...no one could sign up for them anyways under this restriction. De facto termination of all private insurance with this one trick provision alone.
