MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.
MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.
The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.
The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.
More as this develops.
well, Legally Armed found his dumbass:
You!
A right that you fear to exercise is a right that you've surrendered.
My sentiment entirely. I understand what his point is. But the only thing he achieved was to feed The Marxist Onada’s propaganda mill.
Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.
Of course its always a hoot watching the girlie boys and girls squeel when the see guns they can’t control.
I couldn't agree more.....and it's a typical agent provocateur-type tactic.
Just because you can do something doesnt always mean you should.
Stirrin’ up trouble just to get attention.

MSNBC is the propaganda arm of the Socialist Democrat Party. They’re shills for Obama, Daly, Emmanuel, Pelosi, Axelrod and the Third World movement. What they say and how they say it is not to be taken with credibility or seriousness.
Well it was a District Case, but I think it's accurate to say it applies against the Federal Government. Later cases will rule on whether is applies against the State governments and their lower level governments.
There is a Chicago case winding it's way to the Supreme Court now. Chicago's ban is similar enough to DC's that the only issue should be applicability to the states. From the NRA-ILA
Two-thirds of the nations attorneys general have filed an amicus brief asking the U.S. Supreme Court to grant certiorari in the case of NRA v. Chicago and hold that the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments through the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment
...
California attorney general Edmund G. Brown Jr. is filing a separate brief arguing that the Supreme Court should take up NRAs appeal and hold that the Second Amendment is incorporated against the States.
California? I think I'll go now before I faint dead away. :)
Of course this "through the due process clause" is so much Bovine Scat. The record clearly shows that the 14th amendment's authors' purpose was to apply the protections of the first 8 amendments, against the states through the "privileges and immunities clause.
Thank you. I didn't have to go through 400+ posts to see if anybody corrected him. I hate this kind of easily avoided misinformation.
Pennsylvania Firearms Owners Association
The story of John Noble in Beaver County is instructive. Arrested by the locals for open carrying in the area of an Obama rally,he was charged with disorderly conduct. He was eventually found innocent by a jury.
They try it with cops, security on picket lines all the time. Yet you don't see those who know how to handle their guns loose their cool.
It is wrongheaded thinking however, to think that people open carrying will "keep the peace" because the sight of a gun is intimidating. It is not, especially to those whose reason for being there is to intimidate.
Not really. I've seen how quickly union goons will leave a non-union construction site when they see that a couple of the non-union guys on the job are armed.
agreed. Especially when coupled with the “Tree” which implies the spilling of tyrants’ and patriots’ blood. Needlessly provocative.
That sounds like Nancy Pelosi logic to me. If ones right to bear arms somehow depends on whether somebody "knows if he is an extremist" then wouldn't it be perfectly logical to require that anyone who owned or carried a firearm be carefully vetted by the government and shown to not be "an extremist?" You know, something like a background check run by the FBI, ATF, etc and Nancy Pelosi gets to decide if you are "an extremist".
And maybe we should follow your logic further and require that protestors prove that they are not "extremists" before they get to hold up a sign, or even go anywhere near a political event. How about a permit from the government to hold up a sign? I hope you don't think that is a good idea too.
In New Hampshire we have a legal right to openly carry a firearm (with certain limitations of course). The person the media chose to highlight was simply exercising his rights. There were probably a number of other people in the crowd with concealed carry licenses, and they too were armed and exercising their rights.
I presume you aren't worried when you see a police officer openly carrying a firearm, why are you worried when you see a citizen doing the same thing?
I feel for the Secret Service and what they have to do.
However, given the statistics on crime, black-on-black is at a much higher rate than other forms, and therefore, greater attention should be paid to any blacks in the audience at an Obama appearance.
The Brother hasn't delivered much that was promised to his constituents-of-color and some may be itchin' for some of that "Change" he talked of. If this keeps up, Jackson and Sharpton may wantin' to have a look at that 'ole birth certificate.
In Ct, a baton is a deadly weapon..soo
Thanks for the info link on USACarry
Talkin about it and living it are two different things. (Freedom)
Perhaps it has been speculated already that this guy may be a plant with his great sign and ear piece.
And the fact the police so easily gave him a pass.
I wonder if any plain ordinary citizens had any dialogue with him.
And if he is a member of the church where he was standing.
PA is an open carry state.... check it out PAFOA.org
Me too. OTOH, threads like these are great for identifying quislings.
